  1. Review titled Unacceptable Service

Rated 1 star out of 5

I've been on medication for the last six years following a heart attack. I always request the prescription via the NHS application. This time the application failed to list any medication for renewal. I phoned the Church Street practice and waited fifty five minutes just for someone to answer the telephone. Then I was told my medication needed reviewing so they just stopped it? What level of care is that? I'm still without medication.

  2. Review titled Poor service

I have tried ringing the surgery today to make an appointment. Firstly due to being number 30 in the queue I requested a call back, I received a message saying you had tried calling me which you never did. Secondly after waiting for a call back which never happened I then spent over one and half hours in a queue when I started I was number 6 and proceded to spend half an hour as number 2. This is totally unacceptable for a surgery that never seems to be busy and has two receptionist. It is virtually impossible to book a face to face appointment and it seems now its just as difficult to get through to the surgery to even request a phone consultation.

  3. Review titled Shocking shocking service

Absolutely diabolical service today. Had an appointment today, arrived at 5:11 my appointment was booked for 5 but I was caught in traffic as there had been an accident on route. I walk in to a completely empty waiting room and went to reception, I was told because I was a minute late I couldn’t see the doctor. I explained that I had been caught in an accident to which the response was well your 1 minute past the cut off. I could appreciate if the waiting room had patient’s waiting that I would had to miss my time slot and would of happily rebooked, but the waiting room was empty, one of the women asked what appointment was for (which is confidential but due to the nature of the appointment I was happy to tell them) so I explained a blood pressure medication review as tablets wasn’t agreeing with me, to which want of a better word snotty lady came through and said “just put him on the machine” so I went on the machine and when I gave the receptionist the ticket she did say “that’s very high”. Was told to sit down and wait so they could take my blood pressure again on the machine in reception. So I sit and wait and then do the reading again. After a further few minutes I then get told you have a repeat prescription waiting at the pharmacy, I explained the whole point was the tablets were not suitable that was reason for the appointment. So from 5:11 until I left at 5:43 not one person came in for an appointment (which I had photographic evidence of) Absolutely shocking service and total lack of care, I understand I was over the “allowed 10 mins” but with not one person in the waiting room the receptionist could not even bother going to ask the doctor if he could see me due to the circumstances and the fact the blood pressure reading was very high is disgusting service.

Thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry that you had a bad experience when you visited Church Street Surgery. We note your comments that you were 11 minutes late and the waiting room was empty. Unfortunately, the Dr is unable to see patients past 10 minutes after their allotted time. This is due to them either seeing other patients face to face, telephoning patients or other necessary admin duties. We understand how upsetting missing an appointment can be for patients and try to accommodate wherever possible. Sadly, the Dr was unable to see you on this occasion. Health & Beyond encourage feedback from our patients so that we can improve the care and service provided in the future. We would like to assure you that we take all complaints very seriously and will make every effort to learn from our findings. Regards Health & Beyond
