  1. Review titled Fantastic staff at fantastic surgery

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Just called Church Road surgery to deal with a few issues and I was worried that I’d have to do them at different times but I got through to a lovely lady on reception who booked my blood tests and sorted my other issues all on the same call. She made me feel welcomed and nothing was too much trouble. She did what she said she was going to do and it was actioned. Other surgeries that I’ve been a past patient of should take notice, this is how it’s done. Thanks again and See you soon!

  2. Review titled Not a very good experience

Rated 1 star out of 5

I recently found out I was pregnant, I rang the Tile Cross surgery initially as that’s the one closer to my home address. The receptionist initially told me that all they do is email the midwife team to refer me but they only do this on Fridays, as I had made the phone call on a Monday, the receptionist decided to give me a contact number for the midwives so I could call them myself to do the referral. I tried to ring that number roughly 10 times that same day and had no answer. I left a voicemail and never heard anything back. I later found out through a friend that you can refer yourself online so I did that, received the confirmation email so thought nothing more of it and assumed I would be contacted in due time. The email stated by the time I am 8-10 weeks. I am now 10 weeks and have heard nothing from anyone. So I rang the midwife number again multiple times and still received no answer, left another voicemail and still had no contact back. I decided to go into Church Road surgery to talk face to face and was told by the receptionist that that have no contact with the midwives and she gave me a contact number (the same one I already had) she said sorry but that’s all I can do. My partner who works for the NHS has been in to heartlands maternity ward and spoke to them to find out if they know anything. They do not. They tried hard to find out what was happening and have told my partner to leave it with them but when he told them that I was told by the GP receptionist that they have no contact with the midwives they were utterly shocked and stated that that is incorrect and that all GPs have contact with midwives as they have to. So I have been lied to and fobbed off to refer myself and to their job for them presumably because they can’t be bothered. I also before I knew my partner had been to the hospital, I called the tile cross surgery again, and was just told again to contact them myself. I was given two different numbers to try and again both of those I had no answer. I am now nearly 11 weeks pregnant with no midwife, no antenatal care at all and no scans or anything booked in. As someone who had complications in my first pregnancy and who has a blood condition, I really expected there to be more care for someone who would be classed as high risk.

I've had an abnormal ECG and high blood pressure readings, all I can get is a telephone appointment with a pharmacist in a few weeks time - what a waste of time.
