  1. Review titled Awful since the merger

Rated 1 star out of 5

This practice has gone right down the drain since the merger with Corkland Road. Nobody answers the phone. They ring my mum to ask questions when she has dementia and doesn't know what they want. It was so much better at Corkland Road.

  2. Review titled Happy with this practice

Online form is an easy way to get advice or an appointment. Always get a response or phonecall same day. If an appointment is needed they book it and send you the details. Can't fault the service. Only annoying thing is the bloods as you have to contact the phlebotomy service- queue time on phone can be long and they didn't answer my email requests. I've been fortunate to get an appointment at the chorlton surgery but only because of a cancellation-would be very inconvenient to drive to one of the other centres when chorlton is a 5min walk away.

  3. Review titled Terrible

Rated 1 star out of 5

I have sent 4 requests online in the last year which haven't been responded to, including one saying I was unable to take my medication and requesting help. Each time they sent an automated reply saying the GP will be in touch and then I didn't hear anything at all. I tried to book a review appointment for my medication with 10 day notice of the date it was due, but they couldn't fit me in for 3 weeks. I have now run out of medicaiton and the online form to request a repeat prescription just rejects the request with no information about what to do. I phoned up and sat though a 4 minute long recorded message, and then the phone was cut off. They insist you do everything online which I am usually fine with, but they just ignore requests and don't respond.

  4. Review titled Avoid at all costs

Rated 1 star out of 5

If you dare to fall I’ll, please avoid this practice. When you request an appointment you will be offered medical advice from the receptionist. If you (wisely) choose to reject this that may be kind enough to fit you in sometime in the next 5 weeks or so. A day before you are due to be seen you will then be advised that they have changed your appointment to a telephone one, so showing any issues is impossible. Whatever you do please don’t dare to have Mental Health issues…

  5. Review titled Good practice

I have been a patient for 5 years and have had a positive experience. The online system allows easy access to booking appointments, prescription checks and remote assessment by a doctor. I would recommend this practice

  6. Review titled Thorough, caring and understanding

Rated 4 stars out of 5

    by Claire R - Posted on 12 January 2024

I recently had a telephone appointment to discuss a range of concerns and worries that I had about my health and wellbeing. I have not previously needed to have many appointments with a GP but I was so grateful for the help and support I received. The GP really listened to me and gave me sufficient time to explain how I was feeling and what I thought the reasons might be. She explored various options with me as to how I might manage the situation and different options for medication. She gave me the opportunity to make my own decisions whilst giving me full information about the pros and cons of all the options. She also gave me the chance to take some time to talk to a trusted person to gain their opinion before making a decision. A follow up appointment was made so that a review of the impact can be done. I always find this particular GP extremely helpful, knowledgeable and empathetic and she has always managed my health needs highly effectively. Thank you

  7. Review titled Disappointing

Rated 1 star out of 5

I contacted the surgery via the online appointment booking system about a medical problem, which requested me to describe the problem and basically self diagnose. I did this but rather than being offered an appointment with a GP, I was instructed to make a booking for blood tests. I did this, the tests were completed and I checked the results using the NHS app. I have no idea whether the results are normal or not as there was no comment made by the GP on any of the results. It was a total waste of time.

I have been a patient at chorlton nedical centre for over 20 years I have always found them good and helpful to myself and my children I find they go above and beyond receptionist and medical staff, as the practice has merged with other practices I do find it hard to get appointments but they do offer alternative to send pictures and write message to which a doctor looked at and sent me a prescription to resolve my issue

  9. Review titled Getting better

Rated 3 stars out of 5

I can’t compare with other local surgeries but things have improved since I joined at Corkland Rd 5 years ago. The automated appointment system makes it much more streamlined and there’s no need to wait for the phone to be answered. In the past I’ve waited 45 minutes for an answer. The merger with Chorlton Family Practice is a sensible move. One improvement needed is for appointment information/staff to make it clear where you need to go. I’ve arrived at Corkland Rd and told I need to go to the main surgery and vice Versa. The experience with staff has always been positive apart from one experience in November when the Health Care Assistant on the desk ignored me while she browsed her phone.

  10. Review titled Good doctor, disappointing administration

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 17 January 2024

There has been confusing appointments situations, where l asked for one 2 one appointment with doctor, given a slip of paper stating it was a telephone appointment, then it turned out to be face to face and patient was waiting telephone. This happened on 2 occasions. If and when the patient gets to see the doctor he is very satisfied with the consultation. Getting through the reception though is a nightmare.
