  1. Review titled Poor service

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 14 December 2024

In October, after an eye-sight test, the optician gave me a referral letter to give to my gp for further tests at a hospital. I delivered the letter the same day by hand. I had to explain several times that it was a referral letter for the gp, which didn’t instil confidence. Six and a half weeks later the gp has still not actioned the letter. Not a word from the practice about why they are taking so long to refer me. When I have phoned I am told that it’s not yet been actioned and they don’t know when someone will get back to me. Unfortunately, I’ve had a similar experience before. I don’t want to make a nuisance but I feel in a void of poor communication and I’m bracing myself for a visit and determined not to leave until someone actions the referral.

Thank you for your feedback, and we’re very sorry for the delay and frustration you’ve experienced. We work hard to ensure that all incoming letters are logged, reviewed, and actioned promptly through robust systems and safety-netting processes — so it’s concerning to hear this didn’t happen in your case. We’d really appreciate the chance to look into this further and understand what went wrong. Please do get in touch with the practice directly so we can investigate and make sure your referral is appropriately managed. Amanda Meehan Business Manager

  2. Review titled Really Awful

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 08 November 2024

I was advised I needed blood tests which were taken on 22nd October. The results are available on the NHS app but with no medical training or knowledge are not understandable to a lay person. The only part I understand is a couple of the results are called “ abnormal “ and I should speak to a doctor. So far ok but the first appointment to speak to a doctor is 25th November. I am hoping if there was anything seriously wrong they would contact me but of course I don’t know. Bearing in mind I very rarely use the practice I think this level of service is appalling. I would happily go private directly but this also seems to be difficult as I need the blood test results before contacting BUPA. Grove Park surgery used to have a great reputation. Although I didn’t use it much it was highly respected. Now you barely hear a good word about it. Would I change practice if I could ? Absolutely. Christine

  3. Review titled Caring doctors

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Matt Hamill - Posted on 13 November 2024

I joined the surgery following some poor experiences with other doctors. The service here on the whole has been great. The doctor I have been seeing recently has been caring and compassionate. They took time to listen to what I had to say and really get to the bottom of what may be going on. What made them stand out is the wholistic approach, which GPs sometimes miss. I’ve had responses to the online form quickly and been given appointments urgently when necessary. Although the waiting time was, it was worth it for the service.

  4. Review titled Communication nil

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 12 October 2024

Flu jab - appointment led clinic. Practitioners appear to think it was open clinic - leading to a long queue of people standing outside in the cold. I suggest that the communication of this needs sorting, so people do not turn up on time for their appointment only to be left out in the cold. I would add that this practice since the pandemic and since merging is not performing very well. There is general air of confusion and lack of knowledge and that the practice is doing you a favour rather than their job.

Dear Patient Im sorry that you have had a bad experience of our flu clinic. We prebook appointment times to allow us to manage patients in an organised way. Each member of staff has a clinic and there is a floating member of staff to reduce wait times and in case of any delays such as a patient taking longer than expected in an appointment. Im sorry you felt there was confusion and that there were queues however we had 6 consecutive clinics running. We do take on board it was clod and Im very sorry you were waiting outside. We will look at future clinics to see if we can manage this so its more organised for patients Kind regards Amanda Meehan

  5. Review titled Superb Nurse-led review

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 16 September 2024

I accompanied my 14 year old daughter to an asthma review. Although we were late, because we went to the wrong site (more on that in a sec), the nurse agreed to see us, and was genuinely superb. She spoke appropriately to my daughter - no patronising, no asking me questions about her, clear explanations of why her medication was important and why it was changing. She asked for my daughter's opinion directly, and allowed her to respond. We both really appreciated the opportunity for my daughter to feel ownership of her condition. She was also able to respond to a query about a missed vaccination by simply providing it there and then! Just great. The reason we went to the wrong site is that my mobile phone number is registered as the contact for me, my daughter and my son. When appointment confirmations are sent, they don't include the name, so I was looking at the wrong text message for where we should go. My fault, but I think adding names to the texts would help avoid this kind of mistake.

  6. Review titled Bad Customer Service

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 13 September 2024

When I am telephoned to make appointments the staff never use my name. Even though I ask them to, they still do not. I accept I do not have a traditional English name but it is easy to pronounce and if you are unsure you can always ask me. This happened to me in May 2024 and again just now in September 2024. On the first occasion in May I submitted feedback and requested someone to contact me - I'm still waiting for this. It has now happened again... I have lived in Chiswick for 20 years and was previously with Wellesley Rd Practice. I never had this problem with them - they always used my name. Since the merger Chiswick Medical Practice this happens every time I need to make an appointment. Especially disappointing that the staff do not use my name even after I ask them to - it's basic customer service! It would be good to know why I am not being referred to by my name. It would also be good for somebody to get back to me...

  9. Review titled Month of Birth Check

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Paul Allen - Posted on 16 August 2024

I had my month of Birth check in July by invitation from the Surgey. All parts of the check were completed and results checked by my Registered GP Can you please stop sending me the text messages for me to book the appointments for this month of birth Check. Thank you. The reason I am using this way to reply is because I phoned up about this subject some weeks ago and had to Wait over 20 minutes to get through to the receptionist.
