We are relatively new to Castlefields having been with our old practice 23 years. We were assured of a new patients appointment, which has still not happened. They are always very helpful & polite when you can get through to them, speak to them & sometimes see them. But seeing them is nigh impossible, you are invariably, directed elsewhere. 111, Optometrists, A & E and even pharmacists. Patient monitoring, is non- existent! We know the NHS are under a lot of strain, but doctors were always the 1st point of contact to assist and assure a patient of their medical need and care, then directing them to other services, when necessary. With this new method of operating you are made to feel your condition is unimportant and insignificant and invariably do not always seek the medical advice or support you need.

Thank you for your review, at Castlefields Surgery we adopt a patient centred philosophy and we value all feedback from patients to ensure that our service maintains a high standard at all times. I am sorry that you have not been seen yet for your new patient check. Please contact the surgery on 01785 223012 and we will be happy to book this for you. As you are aware the NHS is under pressure for several reasons, illnesses are becoming more complicated, the population is living longer, and budgets are being cut. This means that GP’s need to spend more time with complex cases and those with chronic conditions. It is important that other members of the clinical team see patients appropriate to their skill set. If you request an appointment at the practice, the receptionist will ask you the reason why you are asking for an appointment. The receptionist will then signpost you to the most appropriate clinician. This could be in practice or somewhere else. This will help to make sure that you, our Patient is given access to the most appropriate health professional with the least possible delay. If you wish to discuss our signposting and the services the surgery offers please contact the surgery and ask to speak to myself. Thereza Forrester Practice Manager
