  1. Review titled Compassionate staff

Rated 5 stars out of 5

In times where resources are stretched and limited, I find the staff at this surgery remain compassionate and willing to support in whatever way they can. I had an experience today where the admin member went out of their way to liaise with medical staff to seek medical advice where another service has not been able to support (in the way they should). The nursing team are also made up of kind, compassionate and caring members who always appear available and attentive to provide a fantastic service, despite the pressures we can assume they face with the wider context of working within the NHS. Thank you!

  2. Review titled Great service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Best GPs surgery in the area. I have had several telephone appointments recently as I did not require a physical examination. Prescriptions have been sent to my local pharmacy and marked "urgent" for a fast delivery. A follow up call from the GP in question today to check on my progress was very welcome and reassuring, as was the further prescription sent out very soon after the call

  3. Review titled Great Practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I had a very good experience today with the Practice. Briefly, I needed to ‘see’ a doctor as I believed that I required some tablets. I phoned in and moved relatively quickly from No.10 in the queue to being spoken to. I was asked to send in photos via a link which would be sent and that Dr would ring me after 11.00. The link arrived promptly, the photos dispatched promptly, the Dr rang and we had a sensible conversation and a prescription has been despatched to my pharmacy. All very efficient - top notch service! Many thanks to everyone at the Practice who makes these things happen.

  4. Review titled Thank You For All Your Efforts

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Life is tough everything is under pressure but all my dealings with Castlecroft Medical Practise have been conducted with utmost kindness and professionalism. Yes things go wrong sometimes and maybe slower than we all wish but ultimately we should all step back and think hard about the great institution called the NHS we are lucky to have access to.

  5. Review titled Poor service

It is not easy to get a repeat prescription without a computer which my parents in their 80's don't have. I had to physically race over to hand in a list of medicine needed urgently as dad had ran out. The request was not accepted over the phone, so I had to get a list of his medication from the care home instead of the GP practice looking on their system. Ironically they had printed the list out last month for the care home! What a strange unhelpful way to get medication to an elderly patient in the digital world we live in!

  6. Review titled No Discretion and terrible administration

Rated 2 stars out of 5

Points of this review - Booked appointment wasn't logged. - No discretion, receptionist loud announcing to the whole floor what my appointment was for, which was rather a sensitive subject. - very lengthy call queues. I attended the surgery today for a booked appointment. When I arrived to check in there was no details of my appointment. I was asked what my appointment was for and gave the receptionist the details. It was quite a personal subject, and when they couldn't find my appointment in my system, proceeded in a rather loud voice saying they had no appointments of ... (stating the reason) today, loud enough so the whole of the reception area and waiting room could hear what I was attending for. I was mortified, they apologised, but still not professional at all. Not only had I taken time out of my working day to attend the appointment that they hadn't got a record of, which can be difficult due to the nature of my job, but they also proceeded to loudly mention the reason for my appointment to the world. You would think discretion when dealing with patients is part of the training they receive. They offered to call me back to rearrange the appointment as I had also mentioned the length of time it takes to get through, the call was received before I had chance to get home and I missed it due to driving, I tried ringing to rebook, (Something I was dreading as it takes so long to get through), at 10 minutes into the call I got to caller number 2 in the queue, which I thought was fair enough. 80 minutes later I was still in the queue, and then gave up. So still without an appointment for something they stress is important. I have been attending this practice since I was born, when they were in the old surgery and followed them to the new building. I only go when I really need them or for routine appointments that they remind you of the importance of, so not very often. Sadly the service has never been so bad, and is continuing to get worse. I understand the pressures that they face, and support the NHS and the surgery, but 2 of the reasons for this review are things that were preventable. Not good
