  1. Review titled Caring service

Rated 4 stars out of 5

After telephoning the practice at 4pm I waited a reasonable amount of time, I was second in the queue, before being dealt with by a very efficient staff member . Firstly , a telephone consultation was booked for a medication review, saving me a visit to the practice . Secondly, the administration staff explained clearly how to make a face to face appointment about a post appendectomy surgery concern I had . They advised calling the practice the next day at 8am or attending a walk in clinic if this was unsuccessful. Imagine my surprise when less than half an hour later, I was telephoned by the practice, offering me an appointment that evening at 6.30pm. This meant my concerns were sensitively dealt with by the doctor and my post operative recovery could continue. A thoroughly positive experience.

  2. Review titled Bad Service

Rated 3 stars out of 5

I Came here to book an appointment as I didn’t have any data on my phone to call . The receptionist was extremely rude about it and told me he can’t do anything about that,I should use someone else’s phone. He didn’t have any good service and shouldn’t be working at the reception as he doesn’t know how to greet people or be nice to them on arrival.when I left the GP and stood at the front he proceeded to talk about me to another receptionist about the matter ; and if this is how the receptionist talks to another receptionist about each other the GP should be closed down as some stuff patients say when booking an appointment should be kept confidential.

  4. Review titled Great service from Doctor

Rated 3 stars out of 5

Having had follow up calls regarding several issues I can say that the service I had from the Doctors was second to none. I know there are issues getting appointments but now they've changed to only telephone calls that puts everyone on a level footing.

  5. Review titled Poor reception staff practice

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Patricia - Posted on 13 January 2024

I have been having health issues over the past year. I saw a doctor in March 2023 who requested blood test. I have never received my results since as I have not been able to get an appointment. I have visited Accident and emergency 2 times and contacted 111 service following worsening of symptoms. I have been advised to contact my gp to make a referral for a scan. 3 weeks later am phoning the gp every morning only to be told no appointments available. I need to phone the next morning by an extremely rude receptionist who tells me if I wait for 30 minutes without an answer I should hang up and try the next morning. Serious why do we pay national insurance?

  6. Review titled No appointment given to a 13 day old baby

Rated 2 stars out of 5

Hello, I rang up this morning to book an appointment for my daughter who is 13 days old.I waited in phone queue for half an hour only to be told there is no appointments available. The advice I was given was to take baby to hospital.I wanted her to be checked out by a doctor at the surgery as she is finding it difficult to feed because of cough and throat sounding blocked. I am really disgusted that the surgery is unable to give an emergency appointment for a young child!

  7. Review titled Impossible to get an appointment

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 04 September 2023

I have attempted to get an appointment with my GP, or a matter of fact anyone now 4 times. Every day I have called at 8 on the dot, I have been stuck in a queue for 30 minutes. I have then been told that they have no appointments left, with the phone abruptly been hung up on me. When I raised this issue the last time I called, I was advised to go to the hospital if the problem was so urgent. It almost feels as if I am to diagnose the severity of the issue itself and determine where to go. If I go to a pharmacy, they advise go to my GP. If I call the nonemergency number, they advise it is for my GP. It is not a life- debilitating injury, so is not appropriate for the hospital. It is for a GP to assess and determine the required course of action. I work full time, shift work. I actively avoid going to the GP and haven't used the system much my entire life. When I attempt to use it, I am unable to do so it seems. Quite simply, I am unable to speak to a medical professional and sadly it does not seem I am alone in this.

  8. Review titled Ongoing poor access to care

    by eaterhy86 - Posted on 12 June 2023

When is someone going to review what is happening at Cape Hill Medical Centre? - It is nearly impossible to speak to a doctor let alone see one - no appointments available online despite the fact that other practices are doing so - more patients being registered despite the practice not being able to offer appointments for those already registered - when being told to make an appointment with a health care professional this isn’t facilitated -no provision made for follow up appointments with a health care professional when consulting them over a particular issue, so there is no continuity of care (this is despite what it says on the website). No ability to make appointments in advance (despite what it says on the website). - follow up appointments that are supposed to be booked don’t actually happen, so it’s not worth the hassle of pursuing - no medication reviews done These are some of the issues that I have experienced over the past year that have caused considerable barriers to accessing healthcare. I need to rearrange an appointment that I was asked to make that has been cancelled. Unfortunately I find the current system doesn’t enable me to do so without a great deal of effort on my part. I’m sure the healthcare professionals at this practice do care about their patients, but getting access to healthcare feels like a lottery.

  9. Review titled Brilliant practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Debra Fitzgerald - Posted on 13 June 2023

My mum Jean wasn't well at. I rang the practice on 8 June 2023 and the lady I spoke to was so kind, I explained about my 82 year old mum and booked mum for a Dr call back. Dr wanted to see mum Friday 9 June but mum couldn't walk, feeling dizzy, legs giving way. I went into the surgery, spoke to a very polite, helpful and caring receptionist who arranged a Dr call back. Dr rang and was concerned about mum and made a home visit, arriving half hour later. Dr was so kind, caring, always asking mum if it was ok to do things. Dr wanted mum to go to a&e for an x-ray and tests so he was so kind and fast tracked so mum didn't have to wait in a&e. mum spend the night and is home. This practice is amazing, from the receptionists to the Drs,thank you from myself and mum.
