  1. Review titled Excellent Face to Face Appointment with GP

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by David Woods - Posted on 04 October 2023

I had a face to face appointment with a GP. This surgery does not enable you to easily see the same doctor each time and this was the first time we had met. GP took the time to understand my previous history as a patient, was friendly, professional, and allowed me to share my concerns and dealt with my issues well, taking the time to explain treatment options, and despite my inability to book a double appointment for more than one issue, dealt with all of my concerns on the one visit. I went away reassured, confident in the doctor and fully understanding my treatment plan.

  2. Review titled Migraine

Rated 1 star out of 5

I contacted the surgery on Friday morning and asked for an appointment. I explained that I had been having migraines for the part five weeks, coursing severe dizziness, flashing in my eyes and nausea. Happening at least twice a week . There were causing me to miss work . I was told by the receptionist that they would put me on the triage list and would get a respond that day. At 12.00 a text came through with an appointment for the 6th December. I contacted the surgery again and the receptionist said the triage staff had considered my case as not urgent. I asked if there was a sooner appointment or if I could talk to a doctor but was told no. I completed a E consult form on the website at 12.35 but have still not had a reply. I have always struggled to get appointments at this surgery hence why I have waited five weeks to get one . I just hope there is nothing seriously wrong. As an appointment six weeks later is not acceptable for anyone.

  3. Review titled Blood Test Results

Rated 1 star out of 5

Blood Test done on Tuesday, Text from GP to book an appointment with GP to discuss blood test Wednesday. Not able to have a telephone appointment until 3 weeks later to discuss results, appalling. A 3-minute phone call is all it takes!

If you try to use their website, you're wasting your time everything steers you to Dr. iQ. Which is great if you use the app, I do not. the website has become unfit for purpose.

  5. Review titled No longer a good service

Rated 1 star out of 5

I completely understand that COVID reduced GP services, however the service at this practice has become awful. I do wonder if there is a service at all. I have recently sent in an email re my repeat prescription and had to say I would waste a GP appointment if I needed to for them to get my prescription correct. I have been offered a rheumatoid review by text message. It’s been difficult getting through to the GP to organise this. I work at an extremely busy NHS hospital and full time and would need an appointment after 4pm. Reception have told me there are only appointments in the middle of the day and nine after the 8th July. When asked when these appointments are released, the reception said they were not told, that the nurses release them and they just appear on the system. I am not normally one to complain, however I feel that this surgery has really deteriorated and wonder whether it will ever recover! There is also no other way of communicating with the surgery except calling in.

Dear Patient Thank you for contacting us regarding the problems you have experienced booking a review that we have requested and also regarding your prescription. I am really sorry that you have not been able to book a review with the GP for later in the afternoon after work. In the event that our patients are absolutely unable to take a little time out of their day to attend a GP appointment, we should be able to offer appointment times later in the day. You have highlighted that we have not been clear in this message to the team that there will be circumstances where we need to be flexible and I will ensure this message is passed on. With regard to issues you are having with your prescription, I would like to investigate what is going wrong. Please can you email me or Wayne Robinson on nhccg.cghpartnership@nhs.net with your details and the issue so that we can resolve for you. On a final note, we have launched our new online consultation tool called Dr.iQ that allows you to consult with the surgery, request medications or request administrative support. Please see our website with instructions on how to download this app. Yours sincerely Jane May Regional Manager

  6. Review titled Reception Worse Experience ever

Rated 1 star out of 5

I had a infection, was given cream to resolve, it was not enough, requested more took over a week that it got re-infected, got more cream, told them it would not last, so in the same day requested more, at 5 days I rang and asked it the prescription was ready, its with the doctor, rang at 6 days told it was at the chemist, when to chemist no prescription, now told that it was only day before and I have to take pot luck in the morning to get a doctors appointment. If the receptionist/prescription had done they job the infection would have been cleared by now, uncaring & unsympathetic staff, and its a nightmare to get an appointment, however I have had no issue with the doctors or medical practitioners I have managed to see. Very unhappy.

Dear Patient I am very sorry to read that you have been unsatisfied with the service you have received from CGH Partnership regarding an infection that didn't resolve with the first prescription for cream. With our new online consultation service, Dr. iQ, you will be able to quickly request further medications that have been prescribed to resolve infections. We have a trained team of administrators and clinicians making sure that requests for medication are dealt with promptly so I am sorry that this didn't occur in this instance. If you would like to contact us confidentially with your name then we can see what specifically occurred and how the system failed. Kind regards Jane May Regional Manager
