  1. Review titled Keeping your spot on the phone system

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Amanda watts - Posted on 22 April 2024

This morning at 9.30ish, I phoned the Dr's to order a prescription, and because it was busy, it offered me the call back, I happily pushed 1 for a call back. 2 hrs later, I phoned again just in case I pressed it wrong number only to hear that I was still 25th in line in the end I waited on the line another 45min. When I remarked on the wait I was told that the lines were busy with over 100 people waiting. If this many people have to wait in a line to talk to a receptionist there is a serious problem that needs looking into. Please bushloe get it sorted.

Good Afternoon Amanda, I am sorry you did not have a good experience with our phone system. Monday's are the busiest day of the week and as we have 12000 patients, we experience a high volume of calls. We do ask that prescription requests are phoned through later in the day as it is easier to get through. The easiest way to request a prescription is via the nhs app or through Contact the Practice on our website. If you would like any support with this, please do contact me. sara.poultney@nhs.net Assistant Practice Manager

  3. Review titled Useless

Rated 1 star out of 5

Literally impossible to get an appointment, or if you do, you get someone who just says you need to speak to someone else. I've been having the same physical problem for three years, took 18 months to just get someone to look at it, then months of seeing consultants who eventually referred me to a specialist, who also is incapable of keeping to appointments and actually replying to anything. The whole thing is just a joke.

I am sorry you are disappointed with the service you have received. Our new telephone system offers you the choice of a call back so that you do not have to wait in a queue and will hold your place. Please try calling back tomorrow as close to 8am as possible and choose call back. The receptionist will ask you some questions to book your husband in with the most appropriate clinician. Our GP appointments are all by telephone initially so once these are full we cannot just offer a telephone assessment. If you would like to discuss further, please email me on sara.poultney@nhs.net

  5. Review titled Not good

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Amanda Watts - Posted on 06 September 2023

Getting really fed up with having to chase up about my medication, for the last few months I've had trouble with my medication and having to go days without any. Told to order early on line, I've tried but you can't and i can't afford to go without my bipolar and thyroid tablets as well as the rest of them.

  6. Review titled Thorough, caring GP

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 30 August 2023

I am not a patient but accompanied a family member. The doctor was kind, thorough and listening. If I lived in the area I’d feel privileged to have such a caring GP who fitted us in at late notice. Receptionist treated me like a human being and the call back facility is excellent.

  7. Review titled Amazing staff

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Our experience today for our son who has a chronic condition was exemplary. The receptionist was kind and understanding and the doctor worked hard to fit us in to be seen despite it being 5.30 in the evening. We are so grateful to have such a good practice providing our son’s primary care. Thank you

  8. Review titled Excellent practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Madihah - Posted on 16 December 2022

Moved into the area 6 months ago when I was 6 months pregnant. Registered with Bushloe Surgery, was immediately contacted by the antenatal team, had excellent care throughout my pregnancy by the GP and midwives at the practice. I had bloods taken one day found to be anaemic, my GP got in touch by 6 pm on the same day asking me to collect my prescription for iron supplements. Gave birth in October, again immediately contacted by the midwives and GP practice to sort out post natal care. Had baby immunisation and 6-8 week check for me and baby, was seen within 5 minutes of getting there, and home within 40 minutes. The whole team there has been excellent.

  9. Review titled Practically Impossible to Get Appointments - Infuriating

Rated 2 stars out of 5

    by T Preston - Posted on 15 November 2022

Extremely disappointed with my surgery - getting an appointment booked is practically impossible. Previously, for same day appointments you would call at 8am on the day and be held in a queue and given a slot that day. For some reason, this is no longer the case and instead you are told "we are experiencing high call volumes; call later" and they hang up. Online appointments are also a joke. The only appointments available are NHS health checks or diabetic annual health checks - for anything else, forget it. Once again, it used to be that you'd have to wait a couple weeks but you could at least book a GP appointment online - now I've no idea what the point of this system is. Finally, you can send the practice a message to allegedly make appointments for non-urgent issues. I tried this for cervical screening, only to be sent an email stating I'd need to call for this. What on earth is the point of this if you cannot use it for non-urgent appointments as stated? Frankly, the whole process is infuriating and frustrating; it's as though they don't want you to go there.

  10. Review titled A great caring practise

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 31 October 2022

I have long been fortunate enough to have Bushloe End as my practise. From the front desk through to the actual medical care the service is first class. Easy to use website, polite telephone service and doctors who care. Texts to set up flu jab, responsive to prescription requests and much more. My whole experience with the team is that the caring ethos comes from the top.
