We joined the practice at the end of last year having moved into the area. The practise has a pharmacist who checks your meds and advises what you need or don't need. I have recieved first class care. Can't fault the surgery. Thank you.

Instructions for calling - ensure phone is fully charged, dial number, go do shopping, for an hour, have a cuppa, sit down and continue to listen to, your call is important to us.

Review titled Impossible to get an appointment, cancelled medication

3 of my medications have been cancelled without consultation, one of which is life threatening. I have been trying for nearly a month to get an appointment, but mostly get automated messages stating no appointments are available or occasionally am kept on hold until I lose the will to live. I tried booking online, but again there are no appointments available. When I have gone into the surgery to try booking, the reception staff have been totally uncaring, obstructive and downright rude. Medical staff have a "Duty of Care" to their patients, but there is a clear lack of care and willingness to do their duty at this practice!

Over 41 years overall, Brooke Medical Practice have often jumped through professional loops to help myself , husband and family. (Respect births Respect.) I am a retired nurse myself and spent the final 9.5 years as a Practice nurse. So I do know what it can be like on both sides. I found the reception staff, nurses doctors, now pharmacist and physiotherapist to be caring, respectful, courteous and professional. There Accurx system is amazing! I use it all the time. I hardly ever use the phone lines. Having worked on wards, departments, clinics, Hospice care and general practice as well as being a patient, I consider this review of mine to be grounded on well rounded evidence. Humanly, you cannot please everyone, and health and sickness comes with a mixture of emotions. So dealing with a population of people with wide spread mental , physical, and emotional needs is the hardest job. It's impossible to please everyone, but the staff of Brooke Medical Centre go out of their way to try their best to address each need.

This practice has had a few problems in the past but is now run like a well oiled machine and is a very rightlyrun ship indeed,Doctors at the hospital I have been referredto tell me that staff here are very thorough. Today, for example, I messaged late on Friday afternoon for help with a breathing problem. An appointment was made for me the same day at a respiratory centre. Since I was unable to attend a nurse pracititioner rang me and arranged for a nurse to come over on Mondy to check me out. Excellent care. Really excellent, And typical of this pracice now.

Arrived early for a GP appointment. GP called me in straight away as previous patient did not turn up! New meds prescribed and I left after a short but thorough session. Walked around to the Pharmacy to find out how long I would have to wait for the meds. Pharmacist said take a seat and she would get it ready ASAP. A few minutes later I had them, excellent. During my GP visit she had also recommended that I go for an X-ray so that they could look into the issue I had. Decided to go straight away. Arrived at the Walk in Centre and it was busy as usual. Checked in and within 30 mins had my X-rays done and was on my way home! I honestly can't thank the GP, reception staff, Pharmacy and Walk in Centre staff enough. They are friendly, professional and efficient. 5 stars.

Arrived early for my GP appointment and was surprised when the doctor called me in early for my consultation, which was great but it happened because the patient due to be seen prior to me had not bothered to turn up or let the practice know! The doctor was brilliant she prescribed some new treatment and referred me to the walk in centre for an X ray. On leaving the doctors we went next door to the Pharmacy and they had the new prescription ready within minutes, fantastic service. Decided to go straight away and was prepared for a long wait as it was busy as usual. After a short wait I was called in and had my X-rays done. The staff could not have been nicer or more attentive. Well done to all concerned, 5 stars.

They tell you on the phone message to make an appointment online, so you fill the forms in online then you get a message to say you cant make an appointment online to ring after 11am, so you ring and you are 19th in the queue, by the time they have answered the phone and try and make an appointment they have all gone for the next 2 weeks, so that means only 18 people before you have possibly been able to get an appointment, 18 appointments in 2 weeks???, either there isn't enough appointments/doctors to go round all that need one, or people are being fobbed off, i personally think this practise has too many patients on there book verses doctors/nurses available, it used to be a wonderful surgery , the amount of staff you see in the room behind the reception you would think that they would have more staff answering the phone lines or get more phone lines put in, obviously they need it if you get thru and you are waiting 20+ minutes for them to answer, looking at all the negative reviews on here you would think the practise would take note of them and rectify them.
