Position 2 for 40 minutes? Seriously? That's a complete joke. I'm a receptionist at a surgery myself. That is embarrassing. Employ more staff please and sort it out. What on earth.

  2. Review titled Fantastic Practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I never write reviews but I feel it is really important to highlight the exceptional work this Practice are doing; particularly in times of such high demand. This is by far the most efficient and caring Practice I have been registered with in my 7 years in various boroughs in London. I tend to use the e-consult service (rather than phoning as waits can be, understandably, quite long) for non-urgent medical issues. I have always received a response within 24 hours, and if follow up is needed I have been asked to come in the same day for review/ treatment/ referral. Reception staff are really helpful and the doctors are caring and knowledgeable. I have complete faith in this Practice for primary care needs and highly recommend. Thank you so much!

  3. Review titled Terrible & Awful

Rated 1 star out of 5

Got discharged from this surgery, they didn't even tell me. Left me without my prescription that I've been on for year and told me to call 111. Secretaries often rude & unsympathetic. Avoid, avoid, avoid!

  4. Review titled terrible reception staff

Rated 1 star out of 5

I have had numerous poor encounters with the reception staff this month both in person and on the phone. Having worked in the NHS and as a GP receptionist, I understand it can be challenging but the staff here really show a lack of knowledge, compassion and would probably benefit from re-training. When I've asked simple questions, they never seem to know the answer and can hear them over the phone waiting to ask someone else. So many things are bad: leaving me waiting at reception with no communication, not knowing who to book appointments with, whether they can (or how to) book GP antenatal checks. I was told by one receptionist that she would call me back about an admin request - never had a call. I was told by another receptionist that the nurse she had booked me with would be able to take swabs "god willing"! On a positive note, I have had pleasant experiences with GPs & nurses but your reception team really let you down.

  5. Review titled Very compassionate GP took great care of my little boy

Rated 4 stars out of 5

    by David's mum - Posted on 10 November 2022

After 5 days with a temperature, I rang the practice in the morning to get a GP appointment for my son. The receptionist made sure I got a call back by 10am as I had another medical appointment myself elsewhere. The GP was thorough, sympathetic and professional and took an interest not only in my child but also in me, which I really appreciated. Following the phone assessment, we arranged a face-to-face appointment for the afternoon where the GP performed a thorough examination and prescribed treatment that worked really well. The GP was great with my toddler and kept him entertained and reassured throughout the appointment. The GP was also very supportive of this anxious, exhausted mum. Thank you very much for your kindness, professionalism and compassion.

  6. Review titled Terrible way of treating patients

Rated 1 star out of 5

The receptionist was extremely irritated this morning, acting like I'm stupid and I don't understand what she was explaining to me. Very bad customer service, dirty toilets and poor management of the GP.

  7. Review titled Appoitment big joke

Rated 1 star out of 5

by I am not the only one - Posted on 18 August 2022

I am at work by 8am so can't make the emergency call to book a doctor's appoitment so surgery said to Complete the econsult and it will automatically arrange an appointment or a doctor will call. It did neither. Just asked me to call surgery, which I did to be told again by surgery to join the queue at 8am for a call I can't make. They sympathised they cant make an appoitment. Perhaps bghp would like to comment publicly on this? I suspect not

  8. Review titled Outstanding practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I have been using the Brixton Hill GP practice for over six years, and have found the service to be outstanding - on all occasions. From the reception team to the GPs, I find every member of the practice I have dealt with to be genuinely supportive and professional. This year, the practice has supported me efficiently through the diagnosis and cure of a long-term physical condition (which other practices in the past have ignored), as well as supporting me through a very pressured period. Whether I am using the phone or eConsult, the service is punctual, empathetic and effective. I could not be more impressed - or grateful.

  9. Review titled Issues with email prescriptions

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 06 April 2022

On the phone message that I have heard many times while waiting to make an appointment, patients are advised to email to ask for a prescription. I did this and heard nothing back. When I called to enquire I was told that I had to pick the paper prescription up rather than go straight to the chemist. I had to wait half an hour in the Doctors for someone to sign it off (though obviously they are discouraging people from being there) and eventually when I got to the chemist, the chemist told me it had been faxed over (following my phone call). They advised calling them directly and NOT emailing the surgery. The systems are obviously a bit dysfunctional at the moment
