  1. Review titled Total waste of time

Rated 2 stars out of 5

My son tried for almost 2 hours to get through on the phone to try and make an appointment but was repeatedly cut off. Eventually he did get through and speak to someone who could only offer 1 appointment today at a time he was unable to make. Suggested ringing again tomorrow but he is unable to hang on the phone for hours whilst at work. E consult stupidly only works at certain times. Why on earth you can't make an appointment in advance I don't know. Completely broken system which will just lead to more people turning up at A&E in desperation. Sort it out.

Thank you for raising your concerns. We will investigate the issue you mention with our phone system cutting calls off. We are sorry that your Son has found difficulty in finding an accommodatable appointment. We are maximising the ask of our clinical Staff in regard to the numbers of appointments being offered and will continue to tirelessly recruit more GPs to further increase our appointment provision.

  2. Review titled Can't get through

Rated 1 star out of 5

It is impossible to get through to reception. I have been disconnected twice today, just listening to the hold music now in my third attempt to get my toddler seen by a Dr. The first call, I was on hold for 1hr and 7 min before someone picked up and we were immediately disconnected, the second call I was on hold for 1hr and 12min before the same thing happened. This is horrendous, especially for anyone with a child. He didn't need urgent care 2 hrs ago, but he may need it by the time we finally get through.

  3. Review titled Poor communication policy

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 14 September 2022

When being given an appointment to see a GP over the phone, I asked for the doctor's first name, to which the reply was "We are not allowed to disclose the doctor's first name." I then asked if the doctor was a man or a woman and was told it was a man and asked if that was OK. I said it was OK but am left feeling very upset about this very old fashioned policy and barrier to good communication. In the interest of effective communication, I would ask the doctor to call me by my first name and would expect this to be reciprocal in this day and age.

  4. Review titled going round in circles

i called the surgery hoping to arrange a non urgent appointment to discuss a couple of ongoing issues which have unfortunately worstened recently , i called in the afternoon as advised on your recoreded info (less busy time). I was 18th in the queue and waited 50mins for an answer, i was told that no non urgent appointments were available, it was not made clear what this actually meant, im sure its not forever so when would appointments be available?? i was then asked to make an e consult appointment , i said i didnt really want to do that hence making my call , i was told i could try again in the morning ,i said that calling in the morning was always much busier ,hence calling in the afternoon. (I think it would be a really good idea to advise incoming callers when all of your available appointments are taken either via website or on your answer message service, this would save your patients a lot of time, frustration and heartache) i said i would try doing an e consult as this seemed to be the only way forward, i was advised i could submit one between 17:00 and 18:30 this evening. i clicked on e consult at about 17:15 and got message telling me to submit my request after 08:00 tomorrow morning !! more frustration. All i want to do is discuss the issues that are worrying me with a doctor, i am fully aware of the current situation so would be happy to have a telephone consultation even if that was in a week or two , this was not even offered as an option.I will try e consult tomorrow morning but i do not hold out much hope , i just find the whole situation very depressing im sorry to say

We are very sorry to hear of your experience. Thank you for providing your feedback, we will certainly review your feedback and investigate to understand how we can learn or make improvements based on your experience. We understand that we don't always get things right and that like many other GP Practices are finding it difficult to meet Patient demand. This said, we are committed to providing the best service within our capacity and are working hard to make things easier for our Patients who are understandably finding it challenging to access the care needed.
