    I'm not sure if the receptionists and administrative staff understand how the appointment system works, or if the practice manager did not provide the staff proper training. Anytime I call to schedule a routine appointment. They all instructed me to call at 8 a.m. for a morning appointment or 12 p.m. for an afternoon appointment. Which, I feel, will be extremely beneficial for everyone who want to be seen on the day. However, in my case, I do not want to be seen on a day since I do not want to take appointments away from individuals who want urgent care. I am not sure why 100% of appointments are only released on the same day. Do they want everyone to call at exactly 8 a.m. or 12 p.m. every day? Imagine the volume of calls coming in at 8 a.m.

    The current on the day only booking system seems pretty inadequate, having spent a total of an hour on the phone today to only be told both this morning and afternoon that there’s no more availability is really not great. I’ve had progressive back pain for weeks, which I’d happily have had dealt with as an advanced appointment initially, but is now giving me real diffculities. And to now have to find another day where I can spend upwards of an hour waiting on a phone really isn’t what I need! Going to be looking for another surgery that can offer a more sensible service

    Had an appointment with the practice that the receptionist confirmed verbally. Never recieved a text. Turn up before the confirmed appointment and am told that you are 40 minutes late hence Nurse refuses to see me and turn me back. So apparently NHS employing incompetitve staff that have poor communication skill and lack of empathy is now my fault. On top of it there being no effective complaint procedure with timely resolution makes the staff complacent and patient has to bear the brunt of staff incompetence.

    I want to highlight how impressed I am with the service I have received from both Bounds Green Group Practice and the NHS. I received a referral from one of the dr’s for a MRI. I had the choice of 3 appointments and I could have gone to an appointment the next day but this was not convenient for me so I opted for one 3 weeks later. My results were then at the surgery within 7 working days and I had a telephone appointment 2 days later. The service has been very quick and the drs at Bounds Green Group Practice have been very helpful!

    Excellent communication, knowledge and professionalism presented by the doctor throughout my consultation. Doctor listened to my questions and provided useful advice regarding symptoms. Doctor offered choice before completing necessary investigations/ examinations. Reassurance offered as well. Doctor ensured I understood symptoms and follow up required by another health service.

    I notice there have been quite a lot of negative reviews since many changes were implemented at the surgery as a result of the pandemic. However, when I hear about the negative experiences my relatives and friends are having with their surgeries, I consider myself very lucky to be registered with this practice where I have always been treated with the upmost respect by both the admin and clinical staff. The doctors have a caring manner, take the time to listen to their patients and are very thorough and reassuring in their assessments. I am very impressed with the improvements in the processing time when asking for repeat prescriptions using the Patient Access App. Last time, the prescription was ready to be collected from the pharmacy in less than 24 hrs. I think it is also great that the surgery offers the possibility to book emergency appointments by calling in the morning or at midday during weekdays and on Saturday morning. However, I would like the booking system to be improved by enabling again the appointment booking option on the app as some of us are not allowed to use the phone at work. In addition to this, it would be great if the surgery made some slots available for patients to book non-urgent or follow-up appointments in advance (via the app, phone call or in person) with their regular GP, always leaving some free slots for real emergency appointments.

    I arrived early, as did several people round me, but the jab queue was minimal. I was seen by Reception almost immediately, and given jab about 2 minutes later. instructions were clear. Everyone very pleasant & efficient.

    I had a really nice experience with getting my Covid booster. However, my husband was turned away despite us being able to book his appointment through the booking number. I explained when I booked that I was immuno compromised and that I was booking a slot also for him, as my own GP surgery suggested I explain and see if it’s possible. No problem with the booking part but apparently he is outside the scope, which we accept. I realise that this part of the process is out of the control of Bounds Green surgery but it would help others in a similar situation if the booking line understood the NHS rules…

    All the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. When I entered the clinic, I made a suggestion about putting an extra sign outside as I and several others were confused where to go in. When I was coming out a few minutes later, someone was already putting up the sign. That’s what I call proactive! The team fixing me the vaccination were so nice and made the experience painless and stress free. Thank you!
