  1. Review titled Repeat Prescriptions

Rated 2 stars out of 5

need to have a much better process for dealing with urgent medication requests. lost my blood pressure tablets and ordered more on the app with specific message stating urgency. prescription was blocked awaiting clinical approval for two days which i understand periodically happens but the fact i was am without important medication for two days suggests no one looks at the messages. i am also not sure what clinical approval means no one has called me and asked how i am doing the prescription has just been approved. i also get steroid cream for a skin condition which i have had for 12-15 years. I have never had a review or even seen a doctor since the day they first gave me the cream which amazes me surely i should be called in at least once every three years for some one even if its just a nurse to look at the condition. 15 years of steroid cream without review.

  2. Review titled Ridiculous Practice

Rated 1 star out of 5

Been registered at this practice for approx 20 years, in the last 4 years it has become impossible to speak to someone for any sort of medical advice, repeat prescriptions halted until after a clinical consultation would be acceptable if on the last 2 occasions I hadn't had to call the practice to arrange. 72 calls before I got through on the first occasion and then 43 times on the second. Telephone consultations are great (when you can get through to arrange one) however, there is a particular receptionist who is not only rude but also aggressive in her telephone manner and behaves as though she is the gatekeeper to the countries biggest secret! More phone lines are needed that are actually answered, and by people who want to be there and who actually remember that the surgery is for it's patients !!

  3. Review titled Serious Concerns

Rated 1 star out of 5

It took a great effort for me to ring this Practice this morning but no-one picked up the 'phone . For over a year and a half now I have been waiting for some/any treatment (at this and my previous Practice). Last year was twice told I would speak to GP but had either Pharmacist or Nurse Practitioner . When the Nurse Practitioner called she didn't have the time to speak to me as she was dashing off for another appointment - all my previous GP's have given me time . My medical Exemption card runs out next week again cannot contact to get this renewed - I put a message at the bottom of my last repeat prescriptions about this . Speaking of prescriptions I cannot order any more without a review again can't get hold of anyone (and have never had this done before) . Worst of all I have written to the Practice manager ThReE TiMeS and on each occasion my letters have been ignored . These have all had the word UrGeNt in them , just before Christmas I had an adverse result come back from a screening so I need to speak to a GP in the hopes that they will prescribe the medication I need to clear up the flare up of a chronic disease which has been ongoing since May 2022 - which is what I believe is causing all my problems . All I want is my life back at this time I can only be ten minutes away from my home . My father needs a blood test and at this time he is unwell - I don't have the time to sit and wait for this Practice to answer the 'phone . Everyone who knows me knows the huge effort it takes me to use the 'phone as I hate it so much so I hope that any response to this review will be sent via email - which they should have .

  4. Review titled One Step Forward - Two Steps Back

Rated 2 stars out of 5

They appear to have a lot of progress this year, going from terrible to acceptable. But I still don't understand how hard it is to a) get an appointment and b) why they only see you face to face as a last resort. I had many bloods done on Friday 8th September, and as early as Sunday I got a text to call for a telephone appointment to speak to a nurse. Why can't they book the appt and send you the date and time like the out patients dept ? - Line was permanently engaged from 7.59 to 8.25 Monday morning when I gave up. Monday pm I get a second test to also call and arrange a telephone consultation - so here we go again, Tuesday morning and its currently 21 Minutes permanently engaged - and this is a new telephone system... At least on the old system you knew you were in a queue for ever but a constant engaged tone sends my blood pressure racing - you know the thing the doctor needs to talk to me about and review my medication. If you are lucky enough to get through in the fastest finger first competition, the doctor will do anything to avoid seeing you face to face, asking to send Photo's by email link. But there is no follow up if treatment doesn't work then you have to go through it again, or go private. The surgery leaves you feeling very isolated. One more point - how can the appt line be engaged before its even due to be open ?

I honestly haven't had as much trouble with a doctors surgery then this one shocking turned up for my daughters jab appointment by the time I had parked which was awful went to check in with the computer didn't work then waiting behind someone to check in with the repectiones for her to tell me I'm late?!? And they only allow a 10 minute slot What a joke my appointment was at 10.40 I got to the desk finally for 10.46 the service is shocking they don't want to see you and when they do if your 5 minutes late due to the rubbish parking there is they canceled your appointment and when you are on time your waiting a long time anyway the receptionist said to me she can do Monday I said I will call when I get home as I'm a busy working mum call back and they can't do until a week Thursday?!?! unfortunately this surgery is in our catchment area and we can't go to another doctors

  6. Review titled Rubbish practice and rude staff

Rated 1 star out of 5

I went in for a smear and was told by the nurse you could have done it yourself. The practice manger is always rude and thinks he knows better than the doctors. The receptionists are very rude. I telephoned to say that i had been with this practice for years. I have many medical needs and a long list of repeat medication. My medication is given to me ever since i joined this practice every month. I am left with out medication for up to five days sometimes, even though the surgery knows i can not function without my meds. They always blame it on the chemist but i have changed my chemist to nearly every chemist in Peterborough and its always the same problem. The chemist blame it on the doctors, The doctors receptionist blames it on the chemist. Also the receptionist said if you don't like it find yourself a different surgery. Mean while i am suffering and nobody wants to help. Also apart from one doctor at this surgery, every doctor i have seen, makes me feel like i am an inconvenience to them They do not want to hear what you have come to see them for. They just want you to go away. I have also notice i am always the only one in the waiting room. So they can't be that busy. I hate this place but can not find somewhere alternative to go.

  7. Review titled Horrible practice

Rated 1 star out of 5

No chance to book a doctor appointment. I'm after hospital appointment with the specialist. I've been diagnosed and need new medication but GP is still ignoring my calls. I've received a text message that I must contact them and arrange a doctor consultation, because they've received a letter from the hospital. I'm calling GP every single day from 31st January and still any chance to book any appointment with the doctor. I need start a new medication but GP receptionist are rude and always what they can say by the phone is "we're busy, call tomorrow at 8am again ". Who can take any responsibility for my health now? Why I can't start my new treatment and how long must I wait with a horrible pain and symptoms? The worst GP ever...

  8. Review titled Awful and dangerous

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 04 November 2022

I do not use this language lightly. It is difficult on good days, and impossible on poor days to get appointments. My family members and myself have had to visit non-emergency services at the hospital to get routine care such as antibiotics on multiple occasions. Absolutely scandalous that the practice is still accepting new patients when they can't service the ones they have. Doctors are (If you are lucky enough to see them) very good, but the reception team are rude and unprofessional. My only hope is that somebody reads this review and decides to register elsewhere.

  9. Review titled Don’t get it at all

Rated 2 stars out of 5

There I was fastest finger and boom my call is answered by a receptionist with in 5 minutes. Pick me up off the floor !. Explained lump in throat, difficulty swallowing medication.. need a GP to take a look. Surgery arrange a call back from a GP who actually asks me if I have looked in a mirror and think my throat is swollen. No invitation to have a face to face, just a spray prescribed blind.

Dear patient Thank you for your comments. I am glad to see you got through to the surgery quickly. In relation to a face to face review, the GP has obviously made a clinical decision based on your discussion. However, if you feel the spray is not working or your condition is worsening, please contact me at the Practice and I'll arrange for you to see a GP. Kind regards, Will Symons Practice Manager

  10. Review titled Abysmal service

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 08 August 2022

I called the gp with a problem I have been having and was asked to get my bloods done, which I did. I then received a 'non- urgent' message to call the gp to discuss my report. When I try to call the gp (starting 07:59 am) everyday, I get a 'line busy' rather than going on the queue and when I eventually get through (after 20 mins), I am able to speak to receptionist (after 45 mins) to be told there are no appointments for the day.

Dear patient Thank you for leaving your comments. I am sorry you have been unable to get an appointment to discuss this matter with the GP. If you have still not managed to obtain an appointment, please contact me at the Practice, I will arrange this for you. In the meantime, please be assured we are working very hard to offer as many appointments to patients as possible, constantly reviewing the booking system. We have also recruited 5 new GP's, 3 of which are already in place, with one GP starting in October and one in November. Therefore, I do hope you will see an improvement going forward. Kind regards, Will Symons Practice Manager
