    I visited the surgery with my children on Saturday morning (16th December 2023) who both have been unwell since the previous weekend. Both of them complained about an earache, had a chesty cough and a temperature the night before. It was my son’s second visit in the week as his symptoms weren’t going away. He was quickly examined by a nurse/doctor who said his chest and ears were clear and it was just a virus. We took him to the doctor privately as he was in real pain at night and was diagnosed with an ear infection and bronchitis. I felt like the examination was rushed and not thorough just get us out of the room as quickly as possible. The nurse/doctor’s response to me saying have a nice day, it looks like you’ll be busy was “unfortunately”. My daughter was prescribed antibiotics but the dosage on the prescription wasn’t correct which was pointed out by the pharmacist in Boots. He was reluctant to give us the medicine and advised to contact the surgery again. He said the person who did the prescription “doesn’t have a clue”. In the end he changed the dosage from three times a day to twice as we were about to travel and unable to go back to the same doctor on Monday. The whole experience was very disappointing especially my son’s diagnosis as it turned out he was really ill and needed antibiotics.

    Having called 111 and being advised to use the 'Walk In' Centre (There is a clue in the name !!) because the issue was too serious to wait until Tuesday, we arrived at the Walk In centre. A notice on the door said 'we have no more appointments for today' This was a little confusing for us, as we had been advised to use this service. So we went in to ascertain what our next steps should be. We started the conversation with 'I know it says no appointments . . ' this was as far as we got before the lady behind reception butted in and said in a very abrupt manner 'That is exactly what it means' We tried to continue with our query, but again, she cut us short and said 'Call 111' I tried to explain that we had already done this, and that is why we had turned up here, but she didn't want to know. A complete waste of time having this facility if staffed like that.

    I visited this surgery after trying over the counter medication for a couple of days for an infection, which didn't clear. It was now the weekend and I obviously couldn't contact the surgery and it was so good to find there was somewhere I could go to get treatment. The staff were very helpful and friendly and I was prescribed the antibiotics required and was able to pick up the prescription on my way home, which was a great relief. It is so good to know that such a service is available. Thank you very much.

    I had visited my local pharmacy for advice on an insect bite and was referred to this service as it was a Bank Holiday Weekend. I was booked in by two very pleasant ladies on reception and seen very promptly by the Doctor who confirmed I needed antibiotics and issued a prescription. I hadn’t been aware of this brilliant service and hopefully won’t need it again but very reassuring to know it is there.

    Great practice that helped my children over the weekend. We all know how busy and difficult it is to secure an appointment with NHS, however this walk in practice saved us so much trouble! Staff is brilliant and doctors are helpful at highest level! Thank you!

    Bank Holiday Easter weekend. Went to the walk in centre and, after only 30 min wait, saw a doctor who immediately prescribed me antibiotics. Collected them straight away from nearby pharmacy. All the staff were incredibly friendly and reassuring. Excellent first rate service.

    I came here on Sunday with an ear infection which was very painful. I was seen very quickly and given a prescription. The receptionist and doctor were both very kind. It was such a relief to get help so quickly.

    I attended this clinic on a Saturday afternoon. I was greeted by smiling, helpful staff who made me feel valued and comfortable. I was quickly checked in and saw a doctor almost immediately as they weren’t busy although I believe I was lucky to have arrived during a lull in the day’s appointments. I could not have asked for better treatment, thank you all.

    I have asthma and following a chest infection I had increased shortness of breath and wheezing aggravating my symptoms. I was not so bad to rush to a&e, I always try to manage with my inhaler and over the counter medicine but after 10 days being unwell and feeling worse on a Sunday I wanted to see someone as I thought I may now need antibiotics. My doctor surgery was closed so I called this walk-in before making my way there only to be told to ring 111 instead. Not what I expect from a walk-in service. It is not practical with some conditions to get an accurate diagnosis from a phone call and need a prescription on a Sunday. The receptionist was nice enough but it is a disappointment walk-in service and unfortunately the only one in my area to seek help on a weekend

    Thank you for your comment. Unfortunately we have a limited number of appointments per day and these are offered on a first come first served basis.
