  1. Review titled Persistent GP

    by bargainbs59 - Posted on 24 April 2023

55 years ago I had a mastoid operation. Over the years I have needed urgent care at Warwick hospital. Recently iIhad a massive flare up. I know what the problems are in hospitals after Covid and catching up. My GP from Bidford Health Centre persisted in telephone conversations to the ENT department that I must be seen and within a week I was seen. I am now back in the system and being seen regularly. I couldn't praise the GP enough. [Very happy with 'Team work']

  2. Review titled Always a fantastic service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

No matter how busy the practice is, I always receive an excellent service whether for myself or my children. The reception staff are very friendly and helpful. I like the call back service when the telephone lines are busy. Whether face to face or over the phone the service is excellent. I have always been dealt with very quickly. The nurses and doctors are very caring. A great team at Bidford Health Centre. Thank you for providing such an excellent service.

  3. Review titled Given up

Rated 1 star out of 5

I wouldn't typically take my time to write such things, but I hope this can be published and perhaps save someones bacon as they look for health care elsewhere. This review is not from one incident. I have been a patient of this practice for over 30 years and I now am left with no option but to change as the service is just so bad. I'll talk of 3 incidents in recent years when I've had to use their services. The first occurring 2 years ago when I was given attitude at the desk from the receptionist for being late for an appointment. I had already phoned the practice to explain that I was going to be late and why, but the receptionist couldn't help but make a point when I checked in to do an exaggerated double take at the clock as I told her my original appointment time. She also felt the need to throw in irrelevant, condescending questions about knowing what the time is and what time I was expected to be seen. Why she needed to behave in this way is beyond me and not helpful in the slightest. The 2nd occurrence I got the impression my health concerns were just completely blown out of proportion and they had no interest in investing what the cause could be. The doctor asked me 'what do you want?' expecting me to self-diagnose the problem I came presenting with. Thankfully as a health care professional myself I had an idea as to what clinical tests may give relevant answer to my problem. A blood test, I thought. 'okay i'll book you in for a blood test at Stratford hospital', which seemed odd at first as taking blood is such a simple procedure it can be done in any clinical setting at takes no more than a minute. I attended my appointment like a good patient at Stratford hospital and was turned away because I wasn't given a blood form. Something I was never given or even told I needed from the surgery. There was no follow-up and I get the impression that nobody at Bidford HC cares. The most recent incident I couldn't even make an appointment, as the rude phone operator wouldn't stop shouting down the phone at me (obviously an equipment failure on their end) but that didn't stop her talking in the most patronising, demeaning tone that it would be impossible to book any appointments today or in the future because everyone is required to ring 'as close to 830 as possible on the day'. What an utter joke the health care system is becoming. Bidford HC is the embodiment of a failing NHS and abysmal service that's become so normal in today's society. Don't even bother. Look for a practice that hires staff who give an ounce of....

Dear Patient, Thank you for taking the time to post feedback and are sorry to hear of your disappointment. As you can see, there are very positive comments about the health centre and its team on this site. We receive very few complaints and far more praise. This is discussed weekly at our practice clinical meeting. We can only respond generally to anonymous comments however please contact our reception manager at the health centre on 01789 773372 to discuss the specific details. It remains an extremely busy time for general practice however, we continue to deliver against the increased demands. We apologise your experience did not meet your expectations and look forward to discussing this further with you. Jon Moll, Partner and Complaints Lead

  5. Review titled Great service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I used the online GP service for a prescription review. After completing and sending my form I then had a GP ring first thing in the morning to check through my details and seek further information and my review was completed in a friendly, professional and thorough manner. We are very lucky to have such a health centre that still manages to provide great care in a very challenging time.
