  1. Review titled Confusing Appointments System

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 03 June 2025

Since changes to the appointments service in January, I have found it increasingly frustrating and confusing to get my appointment needs with a GP met or receive consistent care with the same GP. I find the online triage system confusing and overwhelming with no text box to accurately communicate my need or to feel that what I need is being heard within the system. I was asked to contact a specific GP if I needed to and this week when I tried to action that via the online system I was offered a face-to-face appointment with an undetermined GP which is not what I required. A day later I phoned the surgery to ask for a phone appointment with the specific GP or a request to be made so they could send me a link to a phone appointment, only to be told that couldn't be actioned over the phone and that I would have to use the online system to book an appointment. When I stated that this wasn't what I needed as I only needed a phone appointment, I was told to book a face-to-face appointment online then ring back up and change it to a phone appointment. I find trying to get what I need accurately from the service increasingly frustrating and that there seems to be very different atmospheres / vibes created by the GP's who seem extremely caring and welcoming during appointments and the system of booking appointments which feels unwelcoming and closed off. This combines to create an experience which I find frustrating, maddening and overwhelmingly stressful.

  2. Review titled Supportive GP

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I visited today with concerns around breast pain which was causing me understandable concern. I saw a doctor who was very calm and knowledgable. He explained potential causes and was very clear about what next steps would be taken. He was so reassuring and put my mind at ease which is just what I needed. I’d recommend him to anyone!

  3. Review titled Challenges of getting an appointment

Rated 2 stars out of 5

This surgery provides appointment request via AI and online request form. For my throat infection it told me to go to A&E. This is not acceptable. I eventually managed to get a phone call from the practice and an appointment that resulted in antibiotics being prescribed but the system is just very obstructive. You can’t actually say what your problem is. I know many patients are very unhappy with the system.

  4. Review titled Poor service and administration/preparation

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Berian Price - Posted on 09 June 2025

My appointment was an Annual Review with a Nurse, I was kept waiting 28 minutes apparently due to staff training At first the Nurse could not find my request for PSA blood test which despite being recommended each year by a Doctor requires repeated authorisation by a Doctor! At this point I was about to terminate my appointment but thankfully the Nurse then found it. The Nurse could not find the questionnaire I was asked to complete with various lifestyle questions and measurements. She later found it further back in the file as I had submitted shortly after receiving it and problems obtaining a convenient appointment date and time had meant a time gap between submission and attendance, I was asked for a urine sample and this had not been indicated as a requirement when my appointment was set up. The poor organisation experienced is leading me to consider not bothering with Annual Reviews

  5. Review titled Online booking is shocking!

Rated 1 star out of 5

The online booking system is a joke!! Trying to make an appointment for my husband who has lost his voice, struggling to swallow and coughing up green mucus and can’t even make a request because ‘the practice is closed’ and you can’t even talk to someone on the phone!!

  6. Review titled Very helpful

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Glenice - Posted on 10 April 2025

Using the new system to book an appointment or post an admin query I found straightforward to negotiate. Was disappointed that the installation had delayed steroid injection clinic, however I have now had mine with a GP partner at Cropwell Bishop and now much less painful. I found the GP to be so helpful, taking time to answer my queries and it helped to understand the workings of the new system. Hopefully, given a bit more time, the system will show benefits and it does cut out the need to keep dialling in the early morning. In general I have always been treated very kindly by GP’s, nurses and admin staff at the practice

  7. Review titled Unfriendly booking system

by Paul Phillips - Posted on 08 April 2025

I really don’t like the online appointment system. It is very black and white. I have an ankle problem that causes pain. I tried to book an appointment and was offered one option the following day that I could not make. No other option, the only choice being to cancel, and try again another day. The computer system probably works great for the practice but not for those trying to use the service. No flexibility, no opportunity to talk to a real person. I dread to think how anyone with mental health issues successfully navigates this system.

  8. Review titled Poor changes to booking system

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Marc - Posted on 28 January 2025

While I appreciate the need for modernisation, I find it ridiculous that, whilst stood in reception having just seen a Gp and been told to book a referral, or whilst collecting a prescription, I am flatly refused the option of making any bookings in person. The online system doesn't always recognise my postcode, then when booking slots i am constantly shown a 'this slot has been booked' message only for them to reappear an hour later. Staff inform that bookings are blocked form the surgery Pc however two people have shown me how to use the system and done all apart from click the confirm button, another has done a booking over the phone when i needed an urgent appointment and I've been told they can book in person for 'older people with no internet' Thats a great service to offer them, but denying everyone else who is literally there, trying to resolve medical issues and being told to go home, fight the website, wait up to 48 hours for someone to call back who will then arrange a booking, its getting to be. abit of a joke I'm afraid. Used to be Fantastic service and I've waxed lyrical about the efficiency of Bingham Surgery. Sadly, no longer the case

  9. Review titled Great GP who cares and great phlebotomist

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 18 December 2024

Had a couple of appointments with one the GP Dr B. and was very impressed by the care he took to evaluate my case and the fact that he cared, which positively surprised me as I had different experiences before with other GP/other practises. Regarding the phlebotomist, she is brilliant: professional, fast and is able to take the blood sample without leaving any bruises. On a negative is the amount of time it takes to get the line to book an urgent appointment in the morning (I had to wait 45 mins to speak to reception). On a positive note there is a queue system that keeps you informed on where you are in the queue. I guess because of this then the staff is quite short and gives the feeling they are trying to avoid giving out any appointments and feels they barely listen to your case sadly.

Thank you for your kind words with regards to the GP and phlebotomist. We are aware of issues accessing appointments by phone in the morning and are actively working to resolve these.

  10. Review titled I was late by four minutes

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Robert Farrell - Posted on 25 October 2024

I was late by four minutes and was told to re book, the reception area had one person in it and three female staff behind the counter. As a working man i had to walk away, it had taken me half an hour to get to the surgery for being four minutes late and you wonder why men don't come to the Doctors they cant deal with the hassle.

Thank you for your feedback. We do ask patients to arrive on time for their appointments in order that we do not have undue delays to others. Our apologies if you felt in this instance this was unfair.
