  2. Review titled Sadly unsatisfactory

I have been a patient with this practice for over 40 years. My recent experience has been dismal. More often appointments have not been kept as booked, failure to listen to my concerns and general lack of care. Staff turnover is higher than expected , so no continuity. This practice has been excellent over the past 38 years but has professionally deteriorated in administration and healthcare. I will be looking for a knew practice.

I absolutely admire everything in this surgery starting from the receptionists, HCA, nurses and of course, the doctors! Everything well organised, highly professional and very friendly and welcoming!

  4. Review titled Great improvements recently

Rated 4 stars out of 5

I have been a patient at the surgery for 20 years. Over the past few years the processes and procedures around all regular interactions with the surgery seemed to fall apart. It was all but impossible to get through on the phone and procedures for making appointments, repeat prescriptions etc were often illogical and ineffective. Recently, however, that has all changed significantly. The reception staff are professional, efficient, helpful and friendly. Communication is much easier by phone and by email. Messages are passed on quickly and responded to efficiently. There seem to have been quite a few changes in doctors and administrative staff and the team is doing a great job at turning things around. Thank you all.

  5. Review titled Impossible to get an appointment

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Lucy Kent - Posted on 04 March 2023

Myself and my family have been coming to the surgery for a long time. Several years ago there were a number of doctors who were there for many years and who were very familiar with their patients, it was also very easy to see a doctor face to face for emergency or non emergency appointments. However over the last few years these doctors have left and every time you manage to get an appointment they are often with locum doctors. Since the pandemic it has been impossible to get an appointment and when you do it is usually over the phone and more often than not the doctors/receptionists phone at a time when the appointment was not scheduled, therefore it is impossible to answer when at work. Especially as someone who works with children in a nursery. My recent experience of trying to get a medication review for a repeat prescription has not gone smoothly. I went to see the nurse just after Christmas in the new year to have my blood pressure and bloods taken so I can re order my medication, however when I arrived at my appointment the locum nurse told me she was not the right person to do the medication review, when I have had it done by a nurse several times before. I was then told that I had to speak to the surgery pharmacist over the phone, however they called when I was at work and not able to answer my phone. Since then I have given up trying to make an appointment as something always seems to go wrong. I have considered registering with another doctors surgery. I know members of my family have had similar experiences and are not impressed with the service at the Belgravia Surgery.

  6. Review titled Caring Practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Belgravia Surgery has been our family's surgery for over 25 years, if not longer. They have looked after us over the years and even when things don't go to plan, they have endeavoured to sort things out. My parents have complicated medical histories and they have been very prompt and professional in their care and service. Nobody or no service is perfect, especially with the state of the NHS currently, but the team at Belgravia are doing their best and it shows. The current admin team are on the whole knowledgeable, friendly and willing to help. Thanks Belgravia Surgery.

  7. Review titled Pulling together

Rated 5 stars out of 5

In the last month I have had a number of experiences with the Belgravia Surgery. I applaud them. Post pandemic and, with the current cutbacks, they are exemplary. From the kind, patient receptionists who write/type down everything you say, to the nurses and finally to the compassionate doctors who give you a sense of continuity and care even if you do not always see the same doctor. Thank you Belgravia Surgery.

  8. Review titled awful experience

Rated 1 star out of 5

It is getting a nightmare to get an appointment and once I manage to get an appointment; a student calls from the surgery asking me for my details and then to asses me and then pass the information to the GP to call me back, then GP called me and advised me that my Soar Throat is fine and no need to worry and will heal by time, spent over five days buys local medications to settle down. also; I had booked my stitches to be removed after waiting 7 days, and all of a sudden an early message from the GP advised me that my appointment was cancelled, as the nurse was off sick. no backup nurse on this GP. then being advised to go to A&E; this is redecillas. A&E is meant for emergencies, they advised me the next available nurse is the week after. had to go to Private Clinic to remove them and was surprised that upon inspection they were shocked that no one has one checked on the wounds as it suppose to be covered and cleaned from time to time. Whenever I call the GP reception; I was promised that they will call me back and they never did, had to call the next day and as usual, will call me back. If they are short-staffed, then why??? I have lost all faith in my NHS GPs and don't feel anyone is prepared to take us, patients, seriously.

  10. Review titled very rude receptionist

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 13 October 2022

I have to start by saying that the receptionists are usually very friendly, polite and helpful. But today I encountered a rude and dismissive receptionist. I understand they are short staffed, under pressure and have to deal with rude people, but you have to maintain a certain level of professionalism. I had an ultrasound scan and was told to call the doctor to book a follow up. When I called, before I could finish, I was told abruptly I had to call the doctor on the day. When I explained my situation I was told that my results were in, and when would I like to speak to a doctor. Meanwhile she is obviously munching on a bag of crisps and making no effort to cover that up. After saying I'd like to speak to a doctor next week, I was told that she couldn't guarantee it, it was dependent on the doctor. I then said I presumed the scan was clear and it wasn't serious to which she replied " I don't know, I'm not a doctor" - I was never at any point impolite, but all I got was a "I'd rather be anywhere but here" dismissive tone and a lot of munching. Having discovered a lump on my neck and rather concerned about it, I'd expect a doctor's receptionist to at least have a little understanding. Should not be working in a doctor's surgery with this attitude. Wholly unacceptable.
