  1. Review titled Call the surgery

Rated 2 stars out of 5

I am trying for more than a week to call the surgery! I can’t get trough, I have been made 40/45 calls a day from 8am to 5pm. An answering machine is answering and the line is cutting off after a minute every time. From 8 am to 8.15 am the line is busy and after that the answering machine is going on! I need an urgent visit from the doctor, but it seams impossible. Three weeks ago I reached the reception and I have been told that there were not appointment available, I have been referred to another clinic. I went there and no appointment has been made from my surgery! Also I have received a message from the clinic to book ab appointment for a visit with the nurse! But how van I reach the reception? No answer at all from them! The only good experience I have in this clinic is with the nurses. They are very kind and caring. On the other hand out of four doctors I saw in all these years at the clinic only one was professional and willing to listen and understand the problems! The others doctors made me feel uncomfortable and a feel that I was wasting their time!

I went for an examination, the doctors didn't examine me at all, they looked at their computer all the time and from there they decided what the disease was, they didn't touch me, they didn't examine me, and they didn't even pay attention to me.

  3. Review titled Great service

Rated 4 stars out of 5

I have heard horror stories about contacting GP practices in general, but found it very easy to make contact with Beeches Surgery to arrange a GP consultation. I got through straight away in the morning, had a phone call with a GP a couple of hours later and managed to get a blood test the same day. On this occasion I probably would have preferred a face to face appointment, but I can't complain about getting an appointment, blood test etc all on the same day. I subsequently called the surgery to arrange an appointment to discuss my blood results and was offered one the same day - fantastic service! Thank you Beeches Surgery. People are quick to knock the NHS, but I have had a very positive experience.

  5. Review titled Hard to get through

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 05 July 2022

I rang on Tuesday 5th June at 3.30 pm and waited 16 minutes before the phone was cut of by an answer machine saying they were closed . I rang again and waited 13 minutes . Previously I’ve rung and it’s been a 13-16 minute wait before someone has picked up . An incredibly rude receptionist picked up and was not helpful with the issue I needed I asked if I could leave a message and the doctor could decide to call me back or not but was told no you call back at 8 am ( same old same old ) I know from experience I’ll be ringing back , won’t get an appointment and will be going round and round the merry go round for a few days The protocol of ringing at 8 am even if you need help with paperwork or something else and the refusal by the receptionist to ask doctors to call you back or even to pass on a message and get the doctor to decide whether they would call you back is so frustrating it makes me want to scream . I have had other receptionists who sometimes try and help but mostly they just give you the ring at 8am spiel and can’t be bothered to go the extra mile ( even inch ) Why is it so hard to pass a message on and get the doctor to decide whether they can call you back or not Very very simple Just be more helpful or is that just impossible ? Things that you would take for granted at other practices are just not happening here I have dealt at leat 30 times in the last few months with my mothers surgery . Each time I’ve left a message for the doctor they have called me back . They have been kind , polite and it’s been such a different experience than the struggle I have every time I ring Beeches surgery so I just don’t get why this practice is so difficult to deal with and why they refuse to change their protocols to make it easier for patients to get things done . If you don’t believe me ring round a few practices yourself and see how easy it is to get a response or to get things done Only stay because a couple of doctors and nurses are nice but maybe it’s just time to give up with this practice

  6. Review titled Amazing nurse

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Laura - Posted on 31 May 2022

My son has a very bad phobia to needles. The nurse called him before we came as he was refusing, talked him round to come in. And spent time with him, made him feel relaxed and had some great ideas to get him through. I can not thank the surgery and nurse enough for how they are treating my son. He has had two injections so far, and they have organised for him to have the other two in the next holidays. It’s the little personal touches that are important for GP surgeries.

  7. Review titled Good care when you finally get to see dr

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 07 April 2022

Rang Beeches Surgery today Have almost got used to never being able to see a dr so wasn’t surprised that I was told I could only have a telephone consultant with the nurse . Was shocked when the dr rang me back and having done a triage asked me to come in. I went down and rang the buzzer several times ( despite the large notice saying only press once ) As usual after some minutes no one opened the door. I was not feeling well , it was cold and so after many minutes of waiting I rang the practice . After sometime a receptionist picked up and I asked her how long I would be expected to wait and she asked me if I’d rung the buzzer !! Clearly yes and this is not the first time this has happened. Both receptionists were behind their desks which as we all know is right near the front door so how can they have not heard . Come on Beeches Surgery … your staff are letting you down Clinical care is good but as many others have said your management is very poor , treatment of your patients before and after they leave your surgery is terrible . Listen to your loyal patients and change your management and train your receptionists to treat people with more respect . Covid is long over but you seem to be the only practice that still has not resumed normal appointments Please go back to being that friendly local accessible surgery that you used to be !!

  8. Review titled Used to be good

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 13 April 2022

Been with beeches surgery for over 20 years and have finally had enough. The staff on the desk are just plain rude. Can take days, just to get even a telephone consultation. Since covid this practice has become not fit for purpose. Still no face to face appointments (seen my dentist twice) for over two years. Dr's are very dismissive and arrogant and i just get told to call back in two weeks every time. Trying to book an appointment is just as frustrating and on plenty of occasions been told that all consultations by phone have been taken, after 1 hour of being constantly engaged or just not bothering to answer the phone. Used to be a great surgery but no longer the case.
