Review titled Phlebotomy
Rated 3 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 12 May 2025
For years I have had routine blood tests at the surgery with the excellent practice nurse. I have recently received an automated email asking me to book a blood test appointment. As per the instructions I have wasted a significant amount of time logging in to the Airmid app to find appointments are blocked by the the practice, called the number given to be part of a long queue which cannot be sustained during the working day (which is the only time it is open). The number gives gabbled instructions about what should be included in an email which I have attempted to follow but am unconvinced this will be successful. I am reasonably competent but vulnerable patients would not have a chance of making an appointment and serious medical concerns will be missed as people give up out of despair.

Review titled Excellent service
Rated 5 stars out of 5

I have been seen a few times in the last couple of months by the practice clinical pharmacist. I was delighted with the medical attention I received in times most difficult for me. I felt from him a sympathy and understanding, two vital features that have become so rare in the NHS. I went to the surgery for two completely different issues and both times I felt that I have been in good hands. Thank you for being so understanding.

Long waiting when appointments Small shabby waiting area Old building - no parking Some Appointments with non gp but never told your not soeaking to gp so wastes time Main practice gp off sick so other one next in charge is rude and dismissive of concerns Do not accept when make mistakes Mixed up my blood tests and also misread my test readings delaying my care and making me feel uneasy with this practice. Yes you can get an appointment if you call at right time but the overall feel is this surgery is not good I am concerned and will take it further because they made me feel anxious and worried over my tests

Ignore your concerns Make out your weight issues are portions related without looking at evidence that medicine has Caused it Do not call at times they say or leave you waiting for time in waiting room Poor design surgery with ant powder on floor by radiators Small waiting area No parking They just refer you to all over the place instead actually listening to your concerns and dealing with your problems Poor surgery - hard to get appointments

Dear Patient, thank you for taking the time to share your concerns. I would like to address each of the points you have raised: Weight Management and Medication: We understand that weight management can be a sensitive issue, and we are sorry to hear that you feel your concerns regarding the impact of your medication have not been adequately addressed. It is important to feel confident that your medication is working for you without causing unwanted issues. I’m pleased to inform you that we can book an appointment for you with one of our clinical pharmacists. They specialise in medication management and are highly trained to review any side effects, interactions, and concerns related to your prescriptions. They can assess your current medication and ensure you are on the most appropriate treatment. If this sounds helpful, please ring the surgery, and we will arrange an appointment. Appointment Times and Waiting Room Experience: We apologise if our appointment system has not met your expectations. We strive to keep waiting times to a minimum. However, occasional delays can happen due to the unpredictability of patient needs. We are actively reviewing our processes to minimise waiting times and improve communication regarding appointments. Surgery Environment: We are concerned to hear your feedback regarding the cleanliness and design of the surgery. The safety and cleanliness of our practice is a priority. We identified an issue with ants in a small corner of the waiting room, and after carefully assessing the situation, we took immediate action by using ant powder as the most effective method to eliminate the problem swiftly to prevent the spread of pests and to maintain the hygiene of the area following a comprehensive risk assessment. The ant powder used was applied following the manufacturer’s instructions and in accordance with health and safety guidelines. Access to Services: We understand that it can be frustrating to be referred to different services, but please know that referrals are made with your best interests in mind. Some issues require specialist input to ensure the best care possible, which is why referrals may be necessary. However, if you feel that your concerns have not been addressed, please let us know so that we can review your care pathway and provide further support. Appointments Availability: We recognise that accessing appointments can sometimes be challenging due to the high demand for our services. We are constantly reviewing our appointment system and exploring ways to increase availability. In the meantime, we encourage patients to use online services where possible and to let us know if their appointment needs are urgent, so we can prioritise accordingly. Your feedback is valuable to us as it helps us improve our service. If you would like to discuss these matters further, please do not hesitate to contact the surgery so we can arrange a meeting or phone call at your convenience. Best Regards Mrs Sohal, Manager.
