    Receptionist phoned me to let me know I could have an appointment for my blood test and well women check at the same time, which was really helpful for me. Before that the only available appointments had been on different days. I also liked the new system of requesting an appointment, via the enquiry form. Much easier to use than the app. GP phoned me on the same day.

    Over the last eighteen months or so several conditions developed resulting in several visits to my local health centre. On each visit I saw a different doctor, often a locum. As some conditions worsened I started to feel I was losing control of my situation as there was no one person who had a clear picture of who I was as a person or patient. Apart from my health, my driving licence could possibly be withdrawn. I made an appointment with a named doctor, explaining I needed to discuss my concerns. In the event, it could not have been better. Each issue was tackled in turn and a plan going forward made.

    I tried to book a simple appointment with the practice nurse for a contraceptive injection. I already had the prescription, having seen a GP earlier this year. I waited over 3 days to hear back from the online form and then it was a text with a day/time scheduled. I called reception during the 3 days and was simply told to wait. On the day of my appointment the receptionist was fairly busy handling enquiries for people coming in looking for appointments that day. The receptionist seemed to be getting quite exasperated, telling them all to go online. They even suggested to one patient who had chest pains that they go to A&E instead. When I saw the nurse, I also found them to be pretty brisk and in a rush. Didn’t seem to know the room we were in to find anything. Overall, not a welcoming and friendly experience for patients.

Please note that while our receptionists generally encourage patients to use the online form for appointment bookings to streamline the process, we also understand that some patients, especially the elderly or those who are not tech-savvy, may prefer assistance. In such cases, our receptionists are more than happy to help by filling out the form on their behalf. While we strive to provide a welcoming environment, it is possible that on the day you visited, we were short-staffed, which might have caused our receptionists to appear rushed.     I had a painful small lump below my right elbow on Sunday. When I went to bed the lump was enlarged, red and hot. In the morning it was still large and hot and hot and I was getting pins and needles down my arm. I filled in the online form which said dial 111. I did not believe it was that serious since otherwise I was well. I called the surgery and they called back. A doctor called me late morning and I was given a 6pm appointment that day. I was given ibuprofen cream for the lump and told I probably had a trapped nerve. Three days later all is well

    I like the online booking system, which is straight forward, but pleased there is a telephone option for those not comfortable with the internet. I waited about 20 minutes in the surgery. Perfectly acceptable. My GP was friendly, empathetic and professional as always. Very happy with the Practice.

    Each visit or contact with the practice, always met with the highest professionalism, not once have I witnessed any conduct below. Doctors do listen and explain each issue to me clearly, always ready to help, from receptionist to all other medical personnel in the practice. Great service all round

    Too many obstacles before we could get an appointment to see a doctor. No privacy as you have to be interviewed be desk staff, first on the phone. They promised to phone back with an appointment. 72 hours later there was still no phone call. There are too few face to face appointments. It makes me very anxious about phoning. Also having to wait very long before someone answers. Prescriptions ordered online are sometimes not sent through. The surgery has deteriorated over the past few months, in my view. I feel the only good thing is the staff and doctors. They are polite but obviously seem overworked.

We sincerely apologize for any delays in contacting you with an appointment. Timely communication is crucial, and we are actively working to improve our processes for more prompt follow-up. We understand your frustration with the availability of face-to-face appointments. For urgent cases, we offer appointments with any available GP to ensure timely care. However, if you prefer to see your GP of choice and the reason is not urgent, it may take longer to secure an appointment with them specifically. Regarding online prescriptions, we apologize for any occasional delays and inconvenience caused. We are actively reviewing and optimizing our online ordering system to improve reliability and efficiency. Your feedback about the recent deterioration in our services is concerning, and we take it seriously.     I am a patient at Barton House, and the doctors and staff have always been professional. I had a call from a very kind and a friendly staff member this afternoon who was helpful and organised an advice call for a doctor l'm comfortable with.

    It takes a long time to fill in the online form, it’s long winded and I can imagine confusing for some. Follow up requests seem to get lost. It’s reduced the quality of the practice in my opinion - which has previously always been excellent.
