  1. Review titled GP never has appointments and rude receptionist

Rated 1 star out of 5

I’ve been really sick for a week now with a sore throat coughing really bad and not being able to sleep for days because of my cough. I wanted to get an emergency appointment to speak to a doctor and seek some help. I called once and the GP said they have no appointments and that I should call the next day at 8am. The next day I started calling at 8am with the user already being busy, as soon as they picked up the receptionist was soo rude telling me to speak properly because she couldn’t hear me which I understand because I have a very sore throat but she gave me really bad attitude and there was no need to speak to me like that, she told me there was only 2 appointments in the morning all the way in Bushey surgery where I couldn’t be able to make it as it’s too far and I’m too sick to travel that far and she straight away ended the call. This receptionist has always been really rude and the GP never seems to have any appointments near. People need help and this GP doesn’t do anything and the receptionist rude behaviour doesn’t help either.

  2. Review titled Poor Healthcare and Customer Service

Rated 2 stars out of 5

My wife was discharged from Watford General Hospital 4 weeks now and she was advised to follow up with her GP a week after hospitalisation to get a revised medication as she is taking 3 types of medicine as a short term solution during hospital stay. We had an appointment exactly 1 week but the GP told us they don't have the discharged summary from the hospital and that we have to wait until it's provided to them. We chased the GP multiple time, can't even count how many to be exact and all they say is someone needs to chase the hospital. The last conversation this weeek (4th week following up) with the receptionist was the most off-putting of all - my wife said she's running out of medicine this week and what is she supposed to do if the GP still has not received the discharge summary from WGH, the receptionist was adamant we wait and that there's nothing they can do without even empathasing or at the very least understanding it's my wife life at risk if further action is not taken. I simply hope this survey would help change the way they assist their patients, address the opportunity in communicating with other Healthcare facility and the lack of people-skills of most of their receptionist.

Dear Patient, I am very sorry to hear that you have had such a poor experience. The receptionist was correct in advising you that the surgery needs to receive the discharge summary before new medications can be issued. This is for clinical safety reasons, so we can ensure the correct medications and doses are issued to the patient as per the hospital’s instructions. It is very concerning that we have not yet received the discharge summary, and as you rightly say is unacceptable. I would encourage you to contact Watford General Hospital and ask them to provide a copy to the surgery urgently. Alternatively, please contact the surgery [your review is anonymous, so I am unable to contact you directly]. Please ask for me and I will happily assist you with this and contact the hospital on your behalf so we can help to get this resolved for your wife as soon as possible. Kind Regards, Ceara Keane. [Operations Manager].
