  1. Review titled Great Experience

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Mark Woodbridge - Posted on 02 April 2024

I attended a GP appointment on 15th March 2024. The Doctor was very attentive and listened to all my concerns and queries. I was very impressed with the whole experience right from arranging the appointment with the reception staff to completion of the GP appointment.

  2. Review titled Disfunctional! Is it even a Gp????

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Avril Blake - Posted on 15 February 2024

I've just tried to call for advice for my 2 year old. She's had a cough since mid December which is getting better and I asked the receptionist, what do I do. I called because its not entirely urgent as she's not sick but she seems to have a bit of odor when she breathes. She basically said, call in for an urgent care appointment in the morning or call 111. I said, its not urgent and she repeated herself. I then called back and asked, please can I book in my daughter for a general check up with a pediatrician since she's been sick for 2 months and I was informed that they don't have one and the only appointments available, was a telephone consultation on the 14th of March with a general!! For a 2 year old! And no idea at all, as to when a face to face one would be available whatsoever. Absurd. I kept being told to call 111 or use urgent care! It seems their only role here is to basically tell people to go somewhere else! No wonder the phone lines are easy to get through to. What are you even doing if you cant even function as a surgery, offering face to face appointments and have no clue as to when you can? I only left my old surgery 1 month ago to sign up with this one, and I'm utterly rendered speechless. My last surgery was a million times better and I only changed since I moved. It wouldn't bother me much if it was for myself, but for my daughter? That's just not acceptable. They may as well just shut down. I'll be leaving immediately, even if I need to travel further.

  3. Review titled Removing patients

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Sarah Stevens - Posted on 03 August 2023

I have been registered with this practice for a number of years and have been very happy with the care I have received until today. I have come home to find that the surgery has decided to remove me from their list as apparently I no longer live in the catchment area and they can no longer accept patients. However they are only 1 mile further away from my nearest surgery. They are only giving me 28 days to re register with another practice. Leaving me high and dry if I don’t register with the other surgery, who I don’t want to register with. I cannot beleive they can do this and they have done it to others in our tiny village. However the NHS website says they are accepting new patients. So if they have capacity for new patients why don’t they have capacity for the ones they have got. I think this is terrible. Rubbish automated letters and no thought for the patients.

Dear Ms Stevens Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry you are unhappy that we are reviewing our patient list and have needed to write to those patients that do not live within the catchment area for Aston Clinton Surgery. The website states that we are accepting registrations for those patients that move within our boundary. This is only possible because we have made the decision to ask those outside of our area to re-register. Westongrove partnership

  4. Review titled Avoid at all costs

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 26 July 2023

Avoid at all costs. I was diagnosed with a rare type of bone cancer early March this year. After getting a nose bleed that wouldn't stop and not being able to get an appointment I ended up in A & E. The doctor there sent a request for my GP to arrange an Ear nose & throat referral. Of course this didn't happen so I chased them up. Not hearing anything I decided to go private. I eventually got a referral through for 10th of July by which time I had had a biopsy, an operation to remove the tumour and an appointment with Oncology to discuss radiotherapy. I am now trying to chase them up for information for my insurance claim and they are also useless with regards to that.

  5. Review titled What's going on

Rated 1 star out of 5

Dreadfully long wait times for appintments. Not enough doctors because they have retired. Why not just get some new doctors? Was one of the first to register with the practice when it first opened. Very disappointed with the way it seems to be heading!

Dear patient, thank you for your post. Like practices across the country we have been struggling to recruit new doctors. We will of course be continuing our efforts in order to relieve the recognised pressure on appointments and hope to be successful soon.

  6. Review titled Disorganised admin.

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 25 February 2023

a couple of good doctors - when you can get an appointment. Typically 6week+ wait. This has been the case for many years, and getting worse with the same excuses. Why not pay for some locums? Admin is the biggest let down in this surgery- GP had to request actions twice for me. Reflected in attention to the front of house - almost Every single wall space in reception is occupied by a leaflet, many duplicates, many peeling off the wall. Which one is relevant? - an “Out of order” notice next to lift: nothing given as to when a fix is due - a check in machine which doesn’t always work. It also has a confusing printed message on top , apparently if wanting a Doc, then don’t use it. Hard to see message as blends into all The other printed notices on the wall. Clearly there is no site manager capable of looking at the surgery from a customer perspective - and patients are customers which is forgotten Time to get the paint brush out … both physically and metaphorically

  7. Review titled The worst

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 09 August 2022

Absolutely awful. Extremely time consuming to even get through to anyone, never mind speak to a doctor. I moved to the area 9 months ago and registered, my partner and I are struggling to conceive and sought help. Had to wait 4 weeks to even speak to someone, then after the appointment was referred for some tests , after 3 months I received a text from the GP (which I can’t even respond to), I try and call to speak to her and you guessed it, I have to wait 4 weeks just to speak to her. I asked for a follow up face to face appointment and was denied this, only call backs. Have to wait over 3 weeks for these. You need endless patience and energy just to speak to someone at this surgery. Time is of the essence and they don’t se to care and when they do answer the phone, it’s like you’re massively inconveniencing them and if you dare turn up in person, you are scolded like a naughty child!

  8. Review titled No help for menopausal women

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 30 May 2022

I had a phone call appointment from a doctor at this practice who professes to have an interest in women's health. She was rude, talked over me, offered me something to read (!) and got very aggressive when I persisted to ask for help. Shockingly bad. And you wonder why women go private for menopause help?

  9. Review titled Shocking service

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 16 May 2022

Extremely time consuming to get through. Can’t have face to face appointments only call backs. Have to wait over a week for these. Told after first telephone consultation that I could have a face to face if a follow up was necessary. Not so, I have to wait for another telephone consultation. You need infinite patience and energy just to speak to someone at this surgery group. Many people have neither when they are unwell. I would be concerned if I had a serious illness.
