I have had 2 recent consultations with a Registrar at the Appletree Medical practice Duffield Derbyshire. As I understand it a registrar is a fully qualified doctor who is undertaking training and clinical practice before then practicing as general practioner. The registrar I saw was excellent, a very good listener who took pains I thought to fully understand my medical concerns. They then undertook a thorough and sensitive physical examination before recommending appropriate treatments. I felt I was treated with the utmost respect during the whole consultation process each time I was seen by the registrar. My feelings on Appletree Medical practice with regards to my experiences are firstly that they are shown to be very good by dint of the fact that they are given registrars to train in the first place. And secondly that by introducing registrars to the practice it is an extra benefit to patients by having additional newly qualified doctors available for clinical duties/ needs. And thirdly it is helping the Nation by providing fully trained clinically experienced and practised general practioners.

Great practice, helpful staff and always willing to listen and advise, great with my children. Always try to do their best in challenging conditions - doctor will call you even if all face to face appointments have been taken.

Can always get an appointment when I genuinely need one. They listen and often take longer than they should. I feel very lucky compared to the experiences my friends and family have elsewhere.

I went to Appletree Medical Practice in Duffield Derbyshire for some Ear Syringing. The Health Care Assistant ( whom, unfortunately , according to your rules I cannot name name ) greeted me with a smile and my right name and made me feel comfortable. She was very professional and explained what the treatment entailed and she went along. She treated my left ear first but after cleaning it she found something utilising a hand held" torch/ microscope". She believed that was a cause for concern.She briefly researched the likely cause. She then completed treating the right ear to check that too. That was satisfactory. But then checked to see if any clinicians were available to examine my left ear. An Advanced Nurse Practioner . was available after a very short wait she checked and said it would be best to have a General Practioner. examine it to double check it. She was very helpful too. When a General Practioner. became available after another short wait he examined my left ear.He then helpfully explained to me and the Health Care Assistant what the issue was and determined that it was safe and no further treatment was required. I was reassured by him. Overall it was excellent treatment by the Clinicians at this very good practice in my opinion.

All the nurses I have seen are experienced and concerned about their patients. Doctors also but difficult for them because it's difficult to get the same doctor on a regular basis.

I was welcomed into the consultation room by the gp registrar doctor who listened to my medical concern. I had had a consultation about my concern around a decade ago but still had a more recent concern because if a change thought I had detected. The gp registrar doctor took photographs of this area of concern ,including one with a measurement ruler to give scale, and sent it for further investigation. I thought this action was very good,very technologically and medically modern and a good means of diagnosis. Their manner was great throughout the consultation very respectful and very interested, right up to standing up and opening the door for me to go out of the consultation room at the end of a very good experience I thought.

We are quite new to the practice but have had to use it a fair bit with our toddler and newborn. On each visit, all members of staff have been very helpful and friendly and, despite pressures on the NHS, always make you feel listened to and cared for as a patient. I'm very pleased we moved to the practice.

The process to book was efficient with the office staff being polite and informative. The appointment with the nurse was also professionally conducted and she was thorough and coherent when explaining the blood test results. The advice given made sense and related to the data she had in front of her. There was also ample opportunity to ask questions.

My Mother is currently receiving “end of life” care. Everyone we have spoken to, or seen has been kind , caring, knowledgeable, and eager to help. Support has been timely, and communication has been honest and open. I have been extremely impressed by the support we have received for both of my parents during this very difficult time. Thank you
