I am sure the receptionists are very frazzled but so are we! We have a) usually waited for an extraordinary amount of time to have our calls answered only to be told there are no appointments left and b) I had a scheduled phone consultation with a doctor and after waiting an hour and half I still hadn’t received the call and somehow when I called up to find out what was happening I was treated as if this was my fault despite me having to reschedule a number of work meetings etc while I waited around for the call. The exact words were “what do you expect me to do about it?”. Well, I suggest just some polite communication and an update would be a start… This is not the first time receptionists have been rude, unhelpful and the communication at the surgery between doctor and admin staff is terrible. I waited 3 months for them to upload my By proxy documents for my son so that I could act on his behalf, a job which literally required the GP to sign the document and admin staff to upload and authorise on the system. I filled in the forms, I brought my son to the surgery so they could “see him” and identify him, I handed in the forms and yet 3 months until I was actually able to act on his behalf as the forms were “misplaced”, then “still in the GPs tray” and any number of excuses. During that three months I could not act on his behalf and we had much trouble gaining his medication. GPs are really lovely, surgery is clean and comfortable, but they really need to get their act together on the admin side.

Excellent care, fantastic reception support, I am so grateful for the time, advice and care given from the GP today with detailed information and understanding of my symptoms-thank for helping me to get better

I just want to thank the surgery for an excellent service, especially with my children. They will always find the time to see them and discuss any concerns. I rang at 17.30 one day with a poorly toddler, they saw her straight away and referred her directly to hospital, reassuring us and taking them time to make sure we were okay as well as our child. An excellent practice and I couldn’t ask for a better service so thank you

Really good doctors. Appointments are becoming easier to get and you are seen very quickly if need be.
