Review titled Impossible to get appointments

I am trying to get to see a doctor who has asked to see me. I have called and been told no appointments are available. Fine I understand. However, I have been told on 4 occasions to call back at a specified time, which I have duly done only to be told to call back again because nothing is available. How on earth do I get an appointment? The staff do not have the correct information to give to the patients and are very unhelpful. I do not appreciate the practice manager telling me the staff are good when clearly they are not and the buck stops with the manager. All I want is appointment to see the doctor. Trying to see a doctor should not be this stressful. This used to be a good surgery.

Great doctors but very careless and clumsy receptionists. Nighter welcoming n polite nor helpful or even slightly interested to help. I’ve been registered with them since 2001. I was discharged from care coordinator to GP to receive my repeat prescriptions monthly from them about 8 months ago. At least 6 times the reception got it wrong and somehow made a mess of it. I have to go or call back every single time, correct their mistakes and wait for them to do it again before going back to pharmacy to pick them up if I’m lucky at last. And the same challenge next month next prescription and next battle for someone suffering from multiple mental health conditions !! How hard repeating a simple prescription can be ?!! I can’t continue this I might leave the therapy all together

I joined this surgery after being with my previous surgery since a child. I stayed through loyalty and through hearing ‘all surgery’s are the same’. However, after poor service and communication, I decided to move my parents, child and me to Albion Street. I was and still am blown away by how professional, friendly and unobtrusive the reception team are. If they say they are going to do something, they do. Basic but it makes a huge difference to me and allows me to have the trust and confidence that things are being handled. My doctor has been superb and completely on it. The proactively is out of the ball park - totally exceeds anything I could have expected. If any other surgeries read this, I can highly recommended finding out what Albion street do and look to follow suit. Because as far as me and my family are concerned, Albion is in another league for service and care.

I was supposed to receive a call from a Doctor on Friday 7th but despite calling in when it went past the time of the appointment and being told I would get a call no one called me it had already been cancelled and rebooked by text message is this the way patients are being treated at your practice now I have never felt the need to leave a bad review as I also work for the NHS and appreciate how hard it is but I have never been ignored by a dr before I have rebooked my appointment with a dr i know and trust this surgery has got worse and I’m really angry about how I’ve been treated now I have to wait another week until I can speak to someone

You will never get seen on time at this surgery, always a minimum of 45 minute wait. Receptionist staff have no compassion or care to provide information to patients waiting to be seen. I am 7 months pregnant with a toddler waiting but was still ignored. Absolutely shambolic staff attitude.

This used to be an outstanding practice. Today I had to wait about 25 minutes on the phone to get an appointment. I regularly have to make appointments and the receptionists vary immensely. Some are very helpful, others are not and often do not seem sure what they are doing. The quality of nurses varies also who I need to see regularly. I used to have an amazing doctor and was able to get appointments fairly easily with them - I appreciate emergency appointments are different. I just feel that everything is very rushed and there is no real care. I do appreciate the immense pressure everyone is under and I find it a real shame

The front desk doesn't provide any data protection, people are asked of their names, d.o.b. and address, and have to give them out loud everyone hearing. A person today needed a form for sample collection, and instead of asking only (would have been still heard be everyone) their name, the front desk staff asked very loudly what sort of sample it would have been. I don't think it was necessary, as based on their name and d.o.b./address they could have found the form, now we all now the person needed a sperm sample form, and I think they felt embarrassed.

I have been suffering from my loin and back pain, and abnormal discharge for several months. Last time I saw the doctor, he barely listened to me at all. I was waiting for this appointment so long, and nothing has been done! They only gave me a urologist appointment for July!! (Now is beginning of Feb.) The only thing the doctor could say - is to wait until I am worse, then go to an emergency. I am currently staying in bed most of the time because of pain, but no one cares.

Always a great team of Profesional Doctors on standby to listen to your health questions . I have always received a superb caring service over the years when needed. Only recently as 20/1/23 a help was again in hand when issued a last minute prescription to be picked up from a nominated chemist after a last minute consultation with the duty doctor as it was closing time before the weekend. I can never thank the GP enough as the prescription helped me to get through the weekend with less pain. Thank you so much to all the team at Albion Street Group Practice.

Consistently good care and helpful practice manager. When so many people complain that they can't see their GP for weeks, I have always found an appointment in person.
