  1. Review titled Gone down hill.

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Roy - Posted on 18 April 2024

I've been a patient with this practice for many years and always had good care but since the appointments system changed to only dady to day appointments it is almost impossible to get an appointment. I'm a chronic kidney patient with Lupus and several other health problems. I'm constantly told by my consultants at hospital to go Immediately to my Gp if I'm unwell or have new symptoms. Today I made 172 attempts to get through from 8am to 8.20am only to be told once again that all appointments had gone because they close for half day today. What happened yesterday when I did the same thing....no appointments. I doubt therewillbe any tomorrow either. I know for a fact they keep taking patients on but can help the ones they have already. What's the point? This review will probably not even get a response from anyone in the nhs definitely not Albion practice. The whole system is flawed and needs to be changed no wonder A & E departments are on their knees trying to cope with patient constantly told to go to hospital with problems the GPS should be handling.

  2. Review titled Getting bad to worse

Rated 1 star out of 5

by MR VIJAY MANEK - Posted on 14 April 2024

I went to see the doctor before 8am. I had a very high blood pressure and severe headache. When the surgery opened I and all other patients waiting were told to get appointments after 10 days. Or go to A&E if urgent.

  3. Review titled Fabulous registration clerk

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I am new to the area and was a little unsure about registering at this practice when I read some of the reviews but the registration clerk was fantastic. She has such a warm and welcoming personally it was a pleasure to deal with her and l only hope the rest of the staff are the same. A credit to the surgery.

  4. Review titled No compassion or care for children under 5

Rated 1 star out of 5

Rang the surgery to request an appointment with the doctor for my 3 year old son who started with vomiting last night. I explained to the receptionist that my cousins little boy aged 4 has just recently passed away suddenly after he started with similar symptoms. The response was "we have nothing left today, we are not an emergency service and so you need to go to the urgent care center". Ok I was signposted elsewhere to get seen but I wasn't asked of my sons name so it could be recorded into his notes that I rang, there was no empathy after I had told them what had just happened to my cousins little boy and I asked if there was a policy in place to see under 5s on the day and she just repeated that there was nothing left for today and to go to the urgent care center with no empathy what so ever.

  6. Review titled Poor appointment system

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Gillian - Posted on 30 May 2023

I cannot complain about the GP service when I do get to see the Doctor. However getting an appointment is so hard. If you don't feel well or are in pain you don't want to be sat by the phone fir 20 minutes keep trying to get through to the reception. The phone cuts off every time. I start phoning at 8 am and get nowhere. I finally get into a que and then I speak to the reception it is now 8.35 and all appointments have gone. I ask if there is anything this week. I am told to try again tomorrow as it is a day to day booking system. This is a ridiculous system. I work I have to set off at 7 am to be at work for 8 so to ring at 8 means not going in work till later. How am I supposed to tell my workplace that I will be in late as I am trying to get an appointment at the doctors? Why can I not make advanced appointments so I can plan to get there? I simply cannot keep trying the phone each day hoping to get an appointment and sitting by the phone for 30 minutes only to discover I can't get an appointment today and I need to try tomorrow. I have pain in my shoulder. I can take pain relief but I need to find out the cause and if I can do anything else. The system is rubbish it needs to change

  7. Review titled Unable to get an appointment

Rated 1 star out of 5

Despite ringing up several times over the past few weeks I have been unable to get a non-urgent appointment. They are taking on new patients yet they cannot handle the current list of patients. Avoid this Surgery.

  8. Review titled Appalling Service

Rated 1 star out of 5

I have tried unsuccessfully to get a doctor's appointment for the last 5 days. Having not been to see a doctor in more than three years I have a few issues that I need attending to. Having made more than 100 calls this morning, I finally got through to be told there are no appointments left and I need to try again at 8am. When I explained that calling at 8am in the morning means I will be late for my full time job (again) I was told that I could call mid morning on a Monday to get a pre bookable appointment. But wasn't given a time and was told that these appointments go straight away anyway. And again I will be in work. I was then asked what I wanted to talk to the doctor about. What relevance is this? Is it up to the receptionist to decide whether I deserve an appointment? I'm absolutely disgusted with this practice. It's nothing but greed which motivates them to take on far more patients than they can cope with. It seems that I can only get an appointment if I am sitting at home all day and can call at their convenience, when, in reality, it's my considerable national insurance contributions that pay for the service in the first place. Why am I left feeling that I have to tell the receptionist what I want to discuss with the doctor, which is stressful and embarrassing, before I can even begin to beg for a doctor's appointment that I should surely be automatically entitled to. There seems to be no consequences for their totally inept management of this practice. The service - or lack of it- has been just the same for years now, with no sign of improvement.

After 3 months break I had tried today to book appointment for my daughter. First in the queue 8.15 my call was answered. I had been informed there is no more appointments for today again. I had asked to pre-book appointment for any day and still cannot get it. Receptionist told me that I can phone 111.

  10. Review titled Ridiculous

Rated 2 stars out of 5

Called the surgery at 8.01am and for once the line wasn't busy and get told by the receptionist that there are no GP appointments left only nurse practitioner, when the surgery opened a minuite before. Last week the line was busy, dialled the nerves over a 100 times in a space of 15 mins.
