    As newly registered with the surgery one always wonders about how services will be delivered. I have been very pleased with the medical centre and staff, both administrative and clinical. All contacts have been most helpful and professional.

    Seen promptly for my appt with a wonderful GP who listened and emphasised with me. She was helpful and informative and I left the surgery feeing very positive

    I attended the surgery in May 2023. From the offset I had good access to appointments allowing me to be seen at a time convenient around my working hours. My Doctor brought a unique blend of medical expertise along with compassion and humility. She took time and interest in explaining my condition and possible treatments. This was followed up with supporting information allowing me to make an informed decision on next steps.

    I had a nightmare for years with absolutely atrocious London GPs, with my last one (King Edwards Medical Centre) leaving me feeling completely unsafe health wise, while it was quite a way away from me I decided to give Abbey medical Centre a go. In about two weeks with them I've received better support than I had in two years from my previous GP, physicals booked, appointments sorted fairly quickly, referrals around long-running health issues booked etc Most importantly they seem genuinely inquisitive about people's health investigating previous results, checking up also been reported by previous GPs etc Genuinely blown away, but how much this feels like the NHS a few years ago before the massive drop in quality/capacity. Also fairly convenient in that the open relatively late in the evening most weekdays, which is really useful if you work full-time.

    Arrived late because I had trouble parking. Was advised what to do, the specialist who I was seeing was informed and when I arrived was there to see me straight away. He was understanding of my condition and gave me a good plan and forward arrangements were made.

If none of these are available, or do not suit, you will be signposted by our care navigators to other alternatives, such as the GP Hub service, E-consult, and Community Pharmacists..     I want to mention that I have been taking my elderly mum for many years at this surgery and I’m very happy with the excellent service that is being provided. Reception staff are always friendly and very helpful in getting suitable appointments for mum and getting repeat prescriptions on time via our local pharmacy. The nurses and Doctors are also very competent, friendly and caring. The female GP who my mum frequently sees, goes out of her way to examine and carefully explain any issues to my mum. On many occasions, she has rung my mum to enquire on her health when she has been particularly ill or where there has been a change in her medication. Overall, I want to thank the surgery for an excellent service they have providing, and it’s greatly appreciated.

    The CQC has also said it will be making unannounced inspections into patient access at GP practices to see if a range of appointment types are being offered such as face-to-face, telephone, and online; "if patients are able to make appointments in a way that meets their needs and if systems are in place to monitor the quality of access and make improvements" Tried for 4 days in a row to book emergency appointment in the morning, kept on hold and when you get to number 1 in queue reception hang up the phone on you. You are unable to book routine appointments without being told to book online, not everyone has technology or the knowledge to book online and would prefer to book appointment over the telephone. Clearly this practice is not following CQC guidelines.
