  1. Review titled Rude, unwelcoming and unhelpful

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 22 April 2023

Attended as a walk in, as per Leeds Teaching Hospital website you can still walk in, trying not to burden A&E and was told by reception rudely “can’t see you” really abruptly before I’d even explained why we needed help, really unhelpful and was left feeling so vulnerable. Took ourselves to A&E having no option, good job really as surgery was needed. Just not the compassionate service the NHS stands for.

  2. Review titled Does not close at 11

Turned up before 745. Was told they were closed because they were full. This is not really a walk in centre that closes at 11 pm. Check by ringing before attending.

  3. Review titled Overall excellent care received

Rated 4 stars out of 5

Contacted 111 online with suspected fracture and received a call back from a nurse within four hours who advised me to go to St George's walk in centre. I asked if we could have an appointment for an x-ray and was told no, just walk in. We arrived only to be told to expect an extremely long wait but the pleasant receptionist was not allowed to say roughly how long we might have to wait but she offered us the option of going back home to wait and they would ring us there with an appointment time. How ridiculous that 111 couldn't sort an appointment for us or provide a telephone number for us to ring and make an appointment ourselves? Not everyone has their own transport to be able to go back home! A lovely nurse rang us back in a few hours and offered us an appointment so we drove back to the centre. I didn't have to wait long before having the x-rays and being issued and fitted with a fracture boot. Only thing they didn't do was to explain to me how to manage stairs wearing the fracture boot and I had to Google it or risk having another fall. However, I was given details of how to access the Nhs virtual fracture clinic with physio exercises and plan for the next 4-6 weeks so don't need to see any further medical staff unless I have a problem. Lovely staff and good service which could be improved by providing approx waiting times to be seen and appointments for x-rays to be offered by 111. Also noticed that of the three vending machines in the waiting area two were out of order and the third was empty. Overall very good service!

  4. Review titled Going Home

Rated 1 star out of 5

Attended at 7.30 Saturday evening - was told that they were closing at 8. Asked if they could just look at my eye , was told we are closing at 8. After the receptionist asked the nurse again was told no they were closing at 8. Nobody in there and web site said open till 11. Trying to save going to A n E what a waste of time ,

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Attended with a broken arm. Staff were professional and caring. Explained all procedures in a lovely manner so I understood everything. Thank you so much to those that treated me today. I was anxious but you made me feel relaxed and comfortable.

  6. Review titled System does not work

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Darren - Posted on 02 August 2023

Wait to speak to a receptionist, there is no response! Then the system says "Sorry no answer". Tried 19 times over the space of 24 hours, trying not to go to A&E just for a Tetnus. You wonder why we are in the position we are. This is not the clinical staff, it's a failure of the system. Is there actually a facility and a receptionist there?

  8. Review titled Excellent service for minor injury

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 22 February 2023

The staff diagnosing and removing a small foreign body lodged in my foot made me feel relaxed and comfortable throughout the process. From arriving at the centre I had a wait of around an hour before being seen to assess the problem but less than an hour later I had 3 X-rays and then the staff carried out a painless procedure to remove the foreign body and dress the small area affected by the procedure. Excellent service throughout.

  9. Review titled Rude Receptionist

Rated 1 star out of 5

When you are already feeling unwell, the last thing you need is a rude and unfriendly receptionist. We all understand the pressures of the role but if you are unable to remain pleasant and polite, I don’t think this job is for you !! Very unpleasant and completely uncalled for and unnecessary.

  10. Review titled Pointless

Rated 1 star out of 5

Can anyone explain the purpose of an urgent care facility that doesn't even answer the phone to arrange appointments? I've made 40 attempts to contact them today following a referral from 111 and it either gives you a message to say the line is engaged and to try again, or it just rings out and cuts you off. Absolute joke of a service.
