A very friendly, efficient and effective service from start to finish. The staff are most helpful and the procedure was quick and succesful. The only feedback I would give concerns the booklet: it would help if more precise information was given about the activities that must be avoided, rather than more general topics like 'exercie' and 'gardening'. Anyway, many thanks for your service and I am now relaxed about having my other eye treated.

I cannot fault the care and consideration I was given on the day of my op. It's a busy hospital and some waiting has to be expected. The op itself was so quick and I felt comfortable and at ease during the procedure. The staff are very reassuring and confident. I had been a little anxious, but I didn't need to be and will feel a lot more relaxed when I have a second cataract removed.

Facilities: Clean, comfortable, very well maintained, practical and warm. Has a lift as operating theatres are on first floor. Free hot drinks and biscuits available - a wider choice of drinks available at a nominal charge (50 pence.) Clean and spacious toilet facilities. Process: Very efficient and well planned. Equipment appears to be new and rooms are spacious with appropriate facilities. It did not seem rushed, any concerns or questions were addressed in a competent, comprehensive and understandable way. Staff: Kind and professional. The team appear to be happy and enjoy their work. My impression is that the staff are very competent as well as caring- if required. I was impressed with all staff, administrative, ancillary, nursing and medical. Health & safety procedures re patient care were excellent and strictly adhered to. The surgeon was calm, explained every step of the process which I found both very interesting (as an ex-nurse) and reassuring. Post operatively any further questions were answered, necessary medications and bandages etc were provided and clear follow up guidance was given. In summary, an excellent experience of an efficient, professional and safe service and I would happily return if I required further treatment.

I was dreading my eye op. From the moment I was picked up by the SpaMedica transport with a curtious driver and arrived at the Poole Unit I was put at ease. Obviously no op, nomatter how minor, is pleasant, but The staff made me feel at ease and exuded an air of professionalism and homely sympathy. Having been delivered home I feel the day was both medically and emotionally successful. Thank You SpaMedica.

Very smooth check-in procedure. Slight delay because of unforseen problems with two patients ahead of me, but my surgery completed within the quoted "expected time". Very reassured by the cross checking prior to surgery.

After booking an assessment date, the day after my optician referred me to SpamedicaI, I was contacted by phone with some information about my appointment the next day and I received an assessment pack the following day. The assessment went well and in the time they said. Before I left the premises I was given a date for my surgery - 1 week after my assessment. The day of my surgery I was there for approx 3 hours. The surgeon explained what he was doing and if I could expect any pushing, noise etc. He answered all my questions. I felt very at ease throughout the procedure. I felt no pain. My eyesight was a little blurred after surgery but by the next day it was perfect! Overall my experience was excellent and I will definitely return for surgery on my other eye once the cataract needs doing. From the appointment with my optician to having the cataract removed took only 2 weeks!

As always there is apprehension about any form of surgery. At my initial consultation I was put at ease by everyone from reception to discharge. My surgery was a week later involving more personnel. Everyone without exception treated me with care and empathy continually emphasising keeping things sterile along the way. My apprehension evaporated along the way until I was waiting for my wife at discharge with a delicious coffee made by one of the wonderful receptionists. A truly 5 star experience. Well done to the whole team.

From arriving until leaving 2.5 hours later, the care and expertise I experienced was way beyond my hopes. From reception to nursing to surgeon to discharge nurse all were excellent, professional and knew their jobs. They are friendly and reassuring throughout. Highly recommended. Thank you Spamedica.
