Right though from reception,the staff in the assessment areas on first visit.Then the same on the day of the procedure the doctor was very helpful with advice and skillful with his technique

Second cataract operation, friendly and very helpful nursing and office staff, but the surgeon made the procedure very stressful, a very different approach than the surgeon who carried out my first cataract removal in November. That surgeon talked me through the procedure, explaining what was happening and what to expect, ie extra pressure or fluid to my eye. The second surgeon hardly spoke except to raise his voice telling me to keep my eye still in a very angry manner. There was no warning of what was about to happen, and the procedure was painful snd distressing compared to the first operation . The surgeon certainly lacked in any 'people skills'. Being shouted at and told that it was very dangerous if I moved my eye and being handled in a rough manner is not conducive to keeping a frightened patient calm. After my first operation I was not worried about having the second cataract removed, but I came out very upset and felt quite poorly. Perhaps all the surgeons could be reminded that the unknown can be very stressful to the patient, and it costs nothing to be kind and courteous , as were all the other staff and especially the nurses.

Lovely people from having the pre-assessment to having the surgery. This is my first cataract and I was very nervous. Nurses were so nice and the consultant was too, he explained everything before and during the procedure, I was made to feel at ease at all times from arriving, right up to leaving. Everyone was extremely professional but in a friendly manner which obviously helps loads when you are nervous. Even having the drops and pellet was easy and painless. I am looking forward to having the second eye done as the sight is amazing, cant believe how clear the vision is and the colours are so much brighter. Thank you to everyone for excellent care and for the lovely coffee and biscuits, which the nurse bought over to me. Brilliant service and I would not hesitate to recommend SpaMedica Poole to anyone. The staff are a credit to this company.

I went for my first cataract op last Friday. Everything went perfectly and smoothly. Staff were excellent, communication very clear and left with clear instructions as to aftercare. Operation was quick and painless. No after effects. Could drive day after. And the results amazing especially with colour - what a change. Will definitely have second eye done

Firstly I must apologise for not sending my review earlier but I mislaid the form. The staff and doctors and nurses were wonderful, thank you all very much. There was no need for my apprehension I was put at ease from the beginning.

I can not fault the service I received during my visit. Right from the start of the pre op assessment to the operation on the 5th. Greeted at the door and paperwork done. The staff upstairs were fantastic, information, and guidance was excellent. Love the coffee machine as well and the biscuits. All along my journey, I was at ease. Going in the staff was professional and once again the information was reassuring. They checked my details not only once but a couple of times. The surgeon was claiming as well and I was told what was going to happen and what to expect. All done in under 10 minutes. After care was just as good. While I was waiting to get picked up, the girls also checked if I was due back there for a post op followed up or at my opticians. Excellent service.
