From the moment I arrived for my cataract operation, I was welcomed and put at my ease, the surgeon and his team were very friendly and efficient. The gentleman who picked me up and was very friendly and kind. Inundated with tea and biscuits lol. A big thank you to everyone there 👏👏👏

What a wonderful clinic. Beautifully clean and the staff really look after you. The surgeon was kind and put me at ease. Only in the actual theatre for 10 mins. Instructions for the after care was excellent.

From start to finish I cannot fault the excellent service. Everything from transport to and from the hospital and on arrival everything was clearly explained. Operation was quick and aftercare was explained.

From arrival at the clinic for my operation I couldn’t have been treated more kindly. Due to my apprehension my daughter was allowed to stay with me, apart from whilst I was having the cataract operation. Everything was explained clearly and all staff were very kindly.

I have attended twice and each time I have been so impressed by the professionalism, friendliness and attention to detail and clear explanation of procedures that I was going to have, both on the pre assessment day and the cataract surgery that was performed on April 13th 2024. As a retired health professional I am very aware on the importance of how patients would like to be treated and for them to experience well trained staff who have the understanding and the expertise to care for them at all levels. Well done Susan Willgress

From first entering the practice till the time of leaving the service was excellent and the staff were brilliant and very caring in the manner they performed their roles.

Review titled Excellent Cataract Surgery

I was picked up by SpaMadica's minibus and taken to the Poole hospital where I was quickly booked in. There was biscuits and drinks available to have while I waited for my treatment. At the appropriate time, I was taken to a room where a lady took my details and checked my medical history, She gave me drops for my eye that was to be operated on and then I was taken to a waiting room with comfortable chairs and water and biscuits available. After a wait while the drops took effect, I was taken to another room where my details were checked again, more drops given and the surgeon came in and explained what would happen. I was then taken into the theatre for the procedure where there were three additional staff to monitor the procedure. The surgeon performed the cataract surgery and it did not cause me any pain and was done within 15 minutes. I was then led to another area where a nurse gave me a booklet explaining what I had to do post surgery. I was provided with drops to be applied at home for the next fortnight and told how to contact SpaMadica if anything went wrong. Finally I was escorted to a waiting room to wait for my fellow patients to have their surgery done. The driver of the minibus came and made sure that we were alright while we waited watching a TV. The driver was very good and made sure that each patient got indoors safely when he dropped them off. The whole experience was very good and I recommend SpaMedica for cataract surgery.

The whole experience was professional and efficient. Appointments were arranged very quickly, so unlike the usual NHS service. A thorough assessment and examination was made in advance of the operation. The Operation day went smoothly with fairly minimal waiting, refreshments are always freely available and appreciated. The operation was carried out efficiently and was over in less than 15 minutes. Not the most pleasant experience but completely painless. Recovery was quick and the slightly blurry eyesight in the affected eye very soon cleared. Other departments in the NHS could learn from this efficiency and specialisation.
