Review titled Amazing!
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Angeles - Posted on 06 May 2025
I was worried about my eye test and possibility of surgery. I arrived to a pristine reception with welcoming staff, was checked first by 3 ladies who were nice and very thorough, and last, the eye surgeon: not only she was kind, she came across as someone who knew her stuff and wasn’t there to sell surgeries. And the bonus: coffee, tea and free biscuits. It couldn’t have been a more positive experience, thank you!

All you know it was a totally thoughtless experience with great care taken at every stage Member of staff was focused and the tentative pre-op and postop I have already recommended it to several friends to insist on going to this particular branch

Review titled Excellent Care of a Patient with Dementia
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 04 April 2025
I accompanied my mother, who has dementia, for complex cataract surgery. The care was excellent throughout with all staff taking time to communicate with both my mother and with me as her carer. I was able to accompany my mother until she went into surgery and particularly appreciated the surgeon taking the time to speak to me after the surgery to confirm a successful clinical outcome and to advise me how my mother had responded during surgery. Thank you.

Review titled Excellent service.

Whilst being professional; everyone was very friendly and put me at my ease at all stages of the process. I was treated with kindness and as an individual. Everything was clearly explained to me, and the staff tactfully checked my understanding too. The operation was done very efficiently, and again the surgeon, and theatre staff, all had a very friendly and reassuring manner, and checked I was OK throughout. I experienced no pain or discomfort before, during, or after, my cataract operation. The facility is also very clean and modern. I have no hesitation in recommending SpaMedica - Dalston and its staff.

Review titled Excellent experience

I had complex cataract surgery at Dalston. A very pleasant lady driver transported me from home and back in a nice comfortable care. I wasn't there as long as i had expected, all the staff were friendly and put me at ease at every stage. I was worried as my other eye really doesn't function. The operation was carried out by a lovely lady surgeon who I discovered later is one of the leading surgeons in the field of catarcct surgery and other eye conditions. There was no pain or discomfort during the 15 minute operation and despite my having a damaged cornea there was only a slight soreness that evening. The next day my vision was unbelievably good and no headache or soreness. Many thanks to all the wonderful surgeon and all the super staff at Dalston :)

Review titled Really good experience
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Lawrence Normand - Posted on 19 March 2025
The organisation is very impressive, and every step of the way went smoothly. This is in contrast to the sometimes rackety organisation of NHS hospitals. The staff there were universally friendly and helpful, and all knew what they were doing. Again, in the regular NHS staff can be more interested in each other than the patient, or themselves suffering from the hospital's poor management. The clinic was spotlessly clean in every area, and I encountered the cleaning staff working to keep it hygenic and clean. Impressive. The patients are on a conveyer belt, and that's fine, and the important thing is that the process works smoothly, and that at each stage we're still treated respectfully as human beings. And this was the case. I would worry that for staff working on a conveyor belt becomes boring, and they start to treat patients without caring about them. That's a challenge, to ensure that the staff stay interested despite the conveyor belt.
