I had cataract operation on right eye in October 2021. Was very impressed with the whole process at the Kendal Branch. In early 2024 noticed sight deteriorating in right eye and left eye Optician confirmed the lens in right eye needed YAG and left eye needed cataract removal YAG carried out Carlisle in April/May with instant success great improvement in sight. Minimum of fuss. Very efficient staff Left Eye cataract removal op carried out on 20th June First patient of day well looked after from arrival to meeting surgeon. Staff very pleasant Actually operation didnt seem to go nearly as smoothly as Kendal experience surgeon seemed much rougher and as a result the rest of day was one of discomfort pain around eye and lots of wateriness. Paracetamol taken The Discharge Nurse left alot to be desired, her whole attitude gave off the vibes that it was all a drag. Slumped in a chair she held a booklet open in front of me and rattled through its contents. Didnt feel love or valued. I was in and out in one and a half hours, which is half the time stated in booklet and letters, but we were tipped off by the reception guy I could be out in 2 hours. Days 2&3 and pain gone but vision still a bit blurred My Kendal experience I was really impressed by, Carlisle much less so, not so slick and efficient But overall Spa Medica have given me much improved sight

All the staff were very welcoming and cheerful whilst being professional and helpful from the beginning to the end of my treatment. The hospital is well set out and accessible for all.

I had my pre operation assessment last week and everyone was very thorough and gave me lots of information. I had my operation yesterday, and I was very nervous about having my cataract operation and all the staff were kind, patient and efficient staff, friendly clean environment, a great asset for Carlisle. Friendly efficient staff put you at your ease.Every stage of the procedure is explained.The surgeon who did my operation was superb. Would recommend this practice to anyone.

I visited the temporary premises for both pre-assessment and the actual cataract procedure and would have no hesitation in recommending Spa Medica services to others. I would like to pass on my thanks to the whole team, including the transport driver.

Very efficient staff and everything done on time. From the first pre op appointment to the actual operation procedure the staffing was great and efficient. A special thank you to consultant who was excellent and helpful. Would hope to get him agsin when I get my other done

After referral from my optician for removal of my cataracts.From the referral to the surgery was very quick.The staff at both the pre assessment and actual surgery were friendly and professional,The surgeon was reassuring as I was a little apprehensive and the surgery went without any problems.The post operative literature is clear and helpful.
