Had cataract surgery done - extremely happy with whole experience from pre op assessment to surgery. Very friendly, caring staff at all times. The procedure was explained to me very well and I was informed about everything throughout the treatment.

Excellent treatment by a friendly and efficient staff. A very positive result on both eyes, confirmed by my recent optician's appointment. I would recommend other cataract sufferers to use this clinic.

Both the pre-op session and treatment session were handled professionally and efficiently. The pre-op session was in the main building and there was plenty of space. All of the staff clearly knew what they were doing and although the whole process took nearly 3 hours I came away feeling quite reassured. The treatment was done in a mobile unit and the operating theatre was very modern and all of the staff were very courteous and professional. However, the reception area was very small and with five people waiting for treatment it felt quite claustrophobic. Fortunately I was the first of the 5 to go for treatment. I do believe that the company are moving to new premises in May and I would be very happy to go there again for any further treatment.

After hearing about the long waiting times, where once the optician had referred me it was only 3 or 4 weeks before I was given an assessment appointment at the clinic. The assessment was carried out by a friendly staff that really made you feel you were in good hands, very professional. Assessment over, it was a very pleasant surprise to have an appointment for 5 days later. The day of the procedure, there was someone to welcome you and make sure to went to the correct department. Again treated in a professional friendly manner, even we nervously waiting patients were chatting together. The procedure itself was fine. Slight discomfort but pain free, all in all brilliant, one qualms about having the other eye done, thanks Spamedica/NHS

I recommend Spamedica to anyone needing cataract surgery, the whole experience was amazing. I had my first appointment within 3 days of being at the opticians and signed my consent form at the appointment. A lovely nurse rang me from Gateshead and went through all the medical questions she was the nicest person to speak to, the next day I got a call to book my surgery!! All told it was 10 days from the opticians to my surgery!! I can't praise all the staff enough, from the receptionist, to the nurses and surgeon they are a lovely bunch of people to deal with. I'll be back to get my other eye done soon 🙂. If you get offered an appointment with Spamedica grab the opportunity with both hands you couldn't have a better experience!!!

From start of procedures, staff have been friendly considerate and very professional in every task undertaken. I was understandably nervous about having my eye operated on but every step of the way from initiation to operation we were told what to expect and the surgeon was indeed brilliant in explaining in detail what he was about to do. I cannot wait to get the other eye done as the detail now experienced in my vision through the good eye and the the colours now emerging can only enhance my visual facility beyond my wildest expectation! A very grateful thanks to everyone in the Carlisle team - keep up your good work!

The staff did their best in the small temporary cabin. I understand that a new permanent building will be ready in about 3 months. I am grateful that my cataract operation could be done at comparatively short notice. The result is excellent. The nursing staff were very particular and caring and while the whole organisation could have run smoother, a long wait is nothing if the result is satisfactory. We are lucky to have Spa Medica, without which a long wait for eye surgery would be inevitable. Many thanks.
