Review titled In decline

Seats full Blood on floor No patients seen No medical staff No doctors Unable to accept out of area patients 2 hour wait no information Could only offer an appointment with a doctor 7 hours later at 4 to 4.30 in the morning! Could only be released by agreeing to refuse the offered appt? Finding the challenge of where to go when in order to see who increasingly worrying. NHS is being forced to take on more patients without qualified staff. We dont want unmanned surgeries, unmanned drop in centres, unmanned hubs or whatever you want to call the holding pens. Just a doctor with enough qualification & experience to treat or send us to someone who can. Rant over no idea how other countries work but surely there’s a better way perhaps pop up treatment tents maybe?

Review titled Excellent service & care

I was referred to Urgent Care by 111 and given an appointment time. The whole process took less than 50 minutes, from checking in at reception to discharge. The reception staff were friendly and helpful and the nurse who assessed my injured toe was very thorough, caring and knowledgeable. Within that time I also had an Xray and a further discussion with the nurse to discuss the results. Very impressed with the whole process!

Used 111 to arrange a walk in. 111 were excellent in organising this for my son. Only had to wait for 5 minutes to see the dr and dr was able to prescribe and treat my son

Review titled Aweful service

I work in a dog setting, and separated a fight getting bitten in the process. I was okay but was not up to date with my tetanus. My doctors were closed for training, as well as the doctors surgery they refer us to so I was told to come to the walk in. I was sat for 3 hours before deciding to leave as I had work the next day and people who came long after me had been seen twice and were leaving- went up to the desk to let them know and she said I had been called. I said I hadn’t I’m sat right next to the doors. Apparently she had called my name 3 times from the reception to give me an appointment hours ago. I was with my mum and neither of us heard this. Not sure why I didn’t receive a text or something to say so I wasn’t sat waiting for no reason. I never got seen and they gave an appointment for midnight- doesn’t that defeat the point of a walk in? I couldn’t do the appointment as I don’t live very close and was not waiting another 6 hours just for a tetanus jab. All in all I was appalled by the service- no one seemed to be sorted the time they come in- most were given appointments for hours later (some 1:30 in the morning) which makes a pointless journey for some. For urgent care nothing was very urgent.

Yesterday I took my friend aged 97 to the centre after his own doctors receptionist told me that they were fully booked. He received excellent care and was treated with respect, courtesy and kindness. I would like to thank all the staff from the helpful receptionist the triage nurse, the nurse who treated him to the phlebotomist. The staff work so hard and they deserve a big Thankyou

Triage today was fairly quick but said 2 hour wait for blood test due to rash on injured shoulder. After two hours saw nurse who said they dont have facilities for blood test and to go to a and e. Why didn't triage send us there straight away. Wasted 7 hours.

Attended the surgery as I have slipped over on the ice and damaged my wrist. From the point of arrival the team dealt with me quickly and effectively, on seeing the Doctor I was quickly moved on to X-ray before being back with the Doctor for my results - all took no longer than 40 minutes. Excellent service, thank you so much 😊

Review titled Very efficient service
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Kay Richards - Posted on 22 December 2024
I went on a Sunday morning just before midday with a suspected fractured ankle. From entering to leaving 2 hours. In this time I was seen by 1 nurse & 1 consultant. X-rayed and results and recovery explained and given. Friendly helpful staff and I felt they did a brilliant job with my care. We forget these places can not control the volume of people coming through the door and yet they give their best and try and see you as soon as they can. We are all quick to criticise but I would like to personally thank the wonderful staff who deserve alot of credit for what they do which is in difficult circumstances. Well done and thankyou so much . X

I arrived 10minutes late due to traffic, the receptionist was very understanding. I was seen within 5 mins and sent for an x-ray. I had my x-rays after 2mins on returning to urgent care centre I was seen within 5 mins for the x-ray review and given detailed instructions to follow for the recovery of my injury. A brilliant experience in all aspects. Well done Loughborough NHS
