  1. Review titled Sadly a poor experience

Rated 1 star out of 5

I was directed to attend the walk in by my GP surgery. I was greeted by a pleasant smiling receptionist. He got me booked in and I settled in for the wait. The triage nurse called me after about 15 minutes. This nurse, was so terribly abrasive. Her attitude was awful, I was berated because my GP had not provided an x ray form. She couldn't even be bothered to make eye contact. She the. Tells me that I may not be able to get an xray because of certain guidelines they have to follow. Anyway, suitably chastised I slink back to the waiting room and am called two hours later. The nurse who called me is a ray of sunshine, so kind, funny and just nice. She sadly informs me because my injury is more than two weeks old I wont be able to be xrayed. Fine, no problem. I dont mind when I am told nicely. But surely the first lady could have saved me two hours of bum numbing sitting by telling me that at the start. Unfortunately this lady as the triage nurse, is the first person everyone sees. I dont know why she has such a caustic attitude but it really is not a welcoming attitude to patients who are not really wanting to be there in the first place. She really needs to do better as all the other staff managed to be pleasant and kind.

I attended because I had what turned out to be a chest infection. Within 3 minutes, I was seen by a nurse to collect my basic details. A few minutes later, I was called in by a senior nurse (unfortunately cannot name them because of site rules) who discussed my symptoms, diagnosed my problem and issued a prescription for meds to sort me out. In summary, an exceptional service by highly professional and dedicated staff.

  5. Review titled Very professional experience

Rated 5 stars out of 5

1533623  Your Review: Attended walk-in clinic because of persistent cough and wheezing. Unable to get GP appointment. Visited this dept on Saturday morning. Short wait then thorough and courteous examination followed which provided effective treatment for worrying bronchospasm and sent me home with medication. Very relieved in every sense.

I attended the clinic few times over 25 years & found staffs were very polite, efficient and very helpful. We wish all the hospitals/clinic are similar or at least aspire that goal. Thanks. Dr Khan

As the nurse on the door said we might do the xray as you walking. I know when I need to see them. As I had a fall 10 day a ago and the pain not going. But the lady I show was very polite and I felt easy after taking to her.

  10. Review titled Exceptional service from Royal Free Hospitals!

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I attended the Edgware Walk-in Centre on Saturday, 23 July at 4:30pm after a fall injuring my right eye. I was initially assessed within 3 minutes by a nurse then asked to wait for the doctor to inspect my eye. Within an hour I was seen by a doctor who arranged an appointment for me with a Consultant Opthalmologist at The Royal Free Hospital, Hampstead the next day, Sunday, 24th. She also advised me to attend A & E at Barnet Hospital that afternoon just in case I needed an X-ray on my eye - she gave me a letter to hand to both A & E and Consultant Opthalmologist at The Royal Free Hospital. My wife drove me to Barnet where we expected a long wait. We were initially seen by a nurse within 30 minutes who said she would arrange for the doctor to look at my eye. Less than an hour later I was seen by the Opthalmologist who advised that, as I have been given an appointment the following day, thought I would be better waiting to see the Consultant Opthalmologist. All told less than 2 hours! The following day, Sunday at 10am I saw the Consultant Opthalmologist in the clinic. She examined my eye, did various tests and advised I would need stitches on my eye lid but would have to wait for the swelling to go down. An appointment was made for the following Wednesday at the clinic. On Wednesday I arrived for my appointment at the Royal Free Hospital Opthalmology Clinic where I was given 12 stitches on my eye lid and advised I need to attend the clinic at a later date due to another problem that was found during the initial examination. I was amazed at the swift attention I received, from the first attendance at the Walk-in Centre at Edgware Hospital, going to Barnet A & E and finally being treated at The Royal Free Hospital, Hampstead.
