  1. Review titled Bad service

Rated 1 star out of 5

I attended the urgent care centre today after being referred to them by 111 due to chronic back pain which had led to my hip and down my right leg with my leg getting more numb as time went on. Once I had seen the triage nurse and my details had been taken I waited 45 minutes to be seen which is fine. It was what happened next that floored me and left me feeling very angry and upset I was told they weren’t able to help with my pain and they could only test my urine for blood in case it was a kidney infection which I know it wasn’t as I suffer with them all the time and told me they couldn’t give me any pain relief or examine me so I left the urgent care centre feeling very stressed which then lend me to have a seizure due to my epilepsy and I’m now left in even more pain. Very disappointed

  2. Review titled Unprofessional clinician.

Rated 1 star out of 5

Attended recently with ingrown nail in my thumb at 0800, the clinic had just opened. Called in by the triage clinician, took obs was asked what the problem was. Explained old injury and nail ingrown. The next sentence floored me. “ what do you expect us to do about that”.After some frank words the clinician said I would have to get treated privately as that service is no longer offered there. Luckily found a podiatrist that could see my same day, but they were limited as to what could be done, but whilst treating my thumb they saw it was infected. Referred back to my Dr. for treatment. Hopefully the Dr. doesn’t refer me to you. There is no excuse for being unprofessional and rude.

  3. Review titled Very efficient service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Attended as visitor from Scotland with my husband who has a gout flare up. Used the out of hours service at Beckenham Beacon. The triage nurse and GP were very kind and caring and very thorough in their assessment and care. Very busy service with a huge number of patients but very efficient. Thank you for your help.

  4. Review titled Great service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I was seen and out within 2 hours. I had an x ray. All the staff were most helpful and polite. I had fractured my arm. They put my arm in a sling and handed me out information on treatment.

  5. Review titled Chaotic, understaffed and a sensory nightmare

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 23 March 2024

The staff are lovely, but the environment here is terrible. Rubbish on the floor, not enough seats, no cups for water. We’ve waited hours here 2 days in a row and it is clear the staff are doing their best, but that they don’t have capacity for the demand. Please please fund some improvements to the waiting area and some more staff. It is so busy that staff shouting out names is pointless- no one can hear anything.

  6. Review titled Sadly bad experience

Rated 1 star out of 5

Been under their care if you can call it that any longer. I will say the hospital trust has gone through the floor over the last few years. Prior to this and I've been a patient 10 plus years they were amazing. However Care to me doesn't mean a doctor more interested in eating biscuits with a condescending look on his face than showing any care or consideration for a patient pleading for help. Or offering no help but to pass the buck to gps or A and E. Especially when the procedures dont go to plan and your just left to pick up what pieces you can. I will not go back here or the pruh unless I am forced to. Its a real shame as I could not fault them before. They in my opinion were the pride of the NHS.

  8. Review titled Only thing urgent is the waste of taxpayers money

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 12 February 2024

This is not an Urgent Treatment Centre. I was kept waiting in pain for 9 hours before finally seeing a junior doctor. An elderly man ahead of me was struggling to walk or stand but yet had to shuffle his way to the rude and dismissive receptionist to find out where he was in the queue. Oh the queue. Utter chaos. At least two different queues with different orders, so the elderly gentleman was told he was next, but then 3 other people were called ahead of him. But the waste! Unbelievable. Forget the waste of the patients time, which was unforgivable. Their processes are so antiquated and broken. Businesses haven’t operated this inefficiently since the 1970s. I saw the triage nurse three times (she took my oxygen and temperature 2 of those times), was assessed twice (once by the waiting room nurse and once by the doctors nurse), I told the story of what had happened 6 times, diligently noted down each time. I went to an empty X-Ray department with no patients or queues, yet we were in queues in the urgent treatment centre for over an hour to get an appointment. No appointment was needed, they were not busy. It would been more efficient use of taxpayers money to just let people walk off the street and self refer. That would have used three less people to accomplish a better result, and more useful use of the capital investment for the machine and its operator. Despite the operator literally having one job and one patient, it turns out that this was beyond his abilities. He only managed to send one of the 2 X-Rays to the urgent treatment centre. Of course I had to wait in queue for a further 3 hours (my second and third triages, and my second assessment) before having to wait a further hour for someone to walk over to Radiology to collect my X-Ray. Apparently none of the systems work together efficiently. Some patients were asking for the X-ray images themselves so they could self diagnose because the wait was so long. Of course there’s no printer so this couldn’t be done. The only thing urgent about this place is their urgent waste of taxpayers money on hugely inefficient and ineffectual practises and processes. They should fire whoever is in charge here and replace them with anyone better qualified. A kindergarten teacher for example. Of the 15 staff I saw, none were ever particularly busy. I think you could serve patients 10 times faster with half the staff. And anyone who want to claim it’s to protect the doctors time, they weren’t busy either.

I apologise for the negative experience you had at the Urgent Treatment Centre. It’s disheartening to hear about the inefficiencies and lack of coordination you encountered during your visit. As a patient, your time and well-being should be prioritised, and I understand your frustration. Please do consider submitting a formal complaint to the management of the Urgent Treatment Centre. Clearly outline your experience, including the excessive wait times, lack of coordination, and the impact it had on your health. Be specific about the issues you faced. Remember that your feedback matters, and sharing your experience can contribute to positive changes in our services. I hope you receive better care in the future. Rated 3 stars out of 5

Xrayed my r index finger on 26th Jan, never got called back, no one has any info on matter, e.g. GP and pruh. NHS automatically assumed that all patients can afford to call hospitals!

  10. Review titled Not enough praise expressed for the NHS

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Ronald Winn - Posted on 10 January 2024

My visit, by appointment to the Urology Department for a biopsy was pleasant & painless when compared with the pain I had suffered for weeks before. The consultant & sufficient supporting staff were friendly & comforting for a 75 year old who hadn't seen a hospital, as an adult bar one occasion a decade earlier. Staff very caring after treatment as to my wellbeing before letting me go which again was comforting. But all was well. Obviously this is sound practice for the elderly older than myself. This being the next day there is no side effects & everything is normal as before. I
