  1. Review titled Kicked out of my bed before breakfast after surgery

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 18 March 2024

I was asked to leave the ward and go sit in a waiting room for medication, and sent home 12 hours after I had surgery. I told them I didn’t feel well enough to leave and nurse also made a remark that I wasn’t as mobile as I should be if leaving. I can’t even wash myself or get out of bed on my own. I had been awake only a couple of hours when I was asked to go home to free up beds. There was absolutely no pain level check since my surgery although it has been entered into my chart without asking me. And I was left for 7 hours within a couple hours of surgery with absolutely no pain relief despite having asked and being in more pain than pre-operation. But was only offered 2 x 500mg of paracetamol even though I was IV morphine before my surgery. I cannot even move without help and have been kicked out with ineffective pain relief, no checkup from then surgeon after my surgery, or even a wash. Can’t say I would recommend anyone to come to Chichester and especially not Pagham Ward

  2. Review titled Fantastic

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Jade - Posted on 14 March 2024

I was admitted for surgery following an incomplete miscarriage. Despite the sad circumstances of my treatment, the staff were fantastic. I felt well informed throughout the process and felt cared for in an empathetic way. As a NHS nurse myself, it’s has re-enforced my love and appreciation for the NHS and I feel proud to work for such a fantastic organisation. The team made an awful situation feel that bit easier. Thank you.

  3. Review titled A lovely hospital let down by the Pharmacy

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 11 March 2024

I visited the urgent treatment centre with mum and the service was lovely, the team could not have been kinder and we couldn't have asked for more. We were given a prescription to take our local pharmacy but they didn't have the medicine and said return to St Richards who will help. We returned to the St Richard pharmacy, which was closed, and waited until 1 when it opened. a lovely person served us and was so kind, but we had to ask the pharmacist what to do. This was when the excellent service wheels fell off the bus, as the pharmacist shrieked that they could not help now as they "needed to pee". They disappeared for 45 minutes while we waited with Mum in the wheelchair for their return. We all need to take a break, but we all need to be professional and this really wasn't. We were embarrassed for the lovely person at the counter who kept checking in on us, and they were so kind, but please, St Richards, sort out the pharmacy - perhaps have a second pharmacist on duty for comfort breaks?

  4. Review titled Perfect from start to finish

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Adrian - Posted on 22 March 2024

Went for day surgery today. I was greeted by friendly nurses and immediately shown to my area. I cannot fault anything the did in pre-op. Everyone involved in the surgery said hello and provided and calming environment. The nurses in post op were some of the most caring and friendly I have ever known. Faultless, it felt like private service and I am eternally grateful. Thank you to all involved

  6. Review titled Amazing

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Danielle - Posted on 01 March 2024

I have had all four of my children here and the care was amazing. However this week my 8 month old baby girl had suspected meningitis. The whole nursing team, chefs, cleaners and of course the doctors were amazing. They worked so fast and so efficiently. They cared for me my partner and my daughter’s twin sister and of course her amazingly. Allowing us all to stay together. I can’t thank them enough for everything they did. They were so on the ball and got my little girl back up and better within days. They went above and beyond for us. All staff explained everything they were doing and kept us in the know at all times. They made us feel comfortable the whole time we were there nothing was to much trouble. I just can’t fault them on anything. The care we all received was truly perfect. Thank you to the whole of Howard ward for everything you did for my little Esther you all are an amazing team.

  7. Review titled 7 hours waiting

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Paul - Posted on 12 February 2024

While I acknowledge the effort put forth by everyone, I'm utterly baffled as to why it would take over 10 hours just to see a doctor and get discharged. This prolonged delay is utterly unacceptable and reflects poorly on the once excellent service. Watching anxious patients endure pain during such an unnecessarily lengthy wait is disgraceful. This situation is an embarrassment to all involved, as there is simply no justification for such inefficiency.

I went to St Richards hospital via ambulance, well looked after by the ambulance staff. I was treated straight away for the seizure I had, staff were brilliant for my short stay. Food was excellent and they organized a lift home for me thank you

  9. Review titled Distressing time supported by excellent staff

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Lynne Jones - Posted on 06 January 2024

My husband was admitted to A and E Resuscitation. He was seen immediately and treated with respect and his condition and subsequent treatment was explained carefully. On his transfer to Lavant the same can be applied. The care staff from catering assistants to the Consultant were the most caring and dedicated professionals. The nurses and health care assistants were in my opinion of the very highest calibre. Without their empathy and compassion to our family a distressing time would have been unbearable. Thankyou.

  10. Review titled Excellent Endoscopy Unit

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 16 January 2024

The service from beginning to end/recovery was second to none from this team. Every interaction I had was just great. Unfortunately the same can’t be said for the treatment centres reception team. Nonetheless Endoscopy team did you proud today!
