Referred to service for an xray. No appointment needed. Attended walk in xray service at the weekend, couldn’t have been better. Prompt service. Plenty of parking free of charge

  2. Review titled Terrible service

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Sanita - Posted on 11 February 2024

Unprofessional and lack of knowledge , was examined and told nothing wrong to then find out from second opinion that need surgery due to mesh problem. Waited 1 year for this appointment and disappointed in service I received. Also was in and out of the room and consultant was not even listening .

  3. Review titled Fantastic service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

My husband and I visited Oak Unit at St Margaret’s Hospital this morning for my husband to have biopsies taken. We cannot praise the staff enough for the kind, friendly and professional way we were both welcomed and treated during our time there. This is a fantastic unit and a credit to the hospital. Both the lady health professional assigned to my husband and the doctor performing the procedure were at pains to explain what was going to happen, to reassure and to answer any questions we had. The atmosphere in the unit was warm and happy - full of laughter and very relaxed - and it made such a difference to what was quite a daunting visit to the hospital. Thank you so much for the fantastic job you’re doing.

I was referred on the 2 week pathway, got my appointment within a week. My appointment time was 9am and by 10.20 I was all finished, I saw 2 Doctors had a mammogram, ultrasound scan and treatment in that time. Absolutely fantastic service, all the staff were lovely and I cannot fault the service at all. Thank you to everyone there. I would most definitely recommend this service to anyone. Absolutely amazing.

  5. Review titled Lost notes

    by claire418 - Posted on 28 November 2023

I waited months & months for my gynaecologist appointment at St Margaret’s Hospital then arranged childcare & took time off work so I could attend my appointment. I had checked in with outpatients & asked to wait in the waiting room. Everyone in the waiting room was being called in before me so an hour after my appointment I asked what was happening & was told I wasn’t on their list as my notes had been lost by outpatient reception. There was no apology just a patronising tone by the HCA. It’s now an hour and forty minutes since my appointment was due, & I'm still waiting to be seen or spoken to! I’ve never experienced anything like this with St Margaret’s in the past so am really disappointed & upset.

Dear Claire418, I am sorry you had such a long time to wait for your appointment and the loss of the notes. I have shared your comment with our lead Matron in outpatient services at St Margaret's and have asked for a reply. I will respond as soon as I have more information. Please also consider writing in to me at paht.pals@nhs.net so we can review your concerns in greater depth. Kindest regards,

  7. Review titled calling the outpatients dept

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 22 September 2023

I rang to talk to someone regarding my dermatology apt so rang outpatients number. Was 16 in the queue. By the time I spoke to someone I'd been waiting nearly 2 hours! is there only 1 person taking calls? this is disgraceful. If you need to ring outpatients be in for a 1-2 hour wait to speak to even have the call answered.

I had a problem with my hearing aids, did not make an appointment Went the hospital on a Friday, understandably they could not help me the same day, but they promptly made an appointment for the Saturday! Problem solved, quality people, quality service! Well done thank you

  9. Review titled Switchboard

Rated 2 stars out of 5

I waited over 7 minutes for a reply from the switchboard then gave up. Are there too few operators? Much too slow and makes it an expensive call to get nowhere

  10. Review titled Wouldn't know

Rated 1 star out of 5

Had to chase for a necessary test prior to a consultant appointment, otherwise that would be pointless without the data. After chasing, appoinment did come through but I'm out of the country so have left several messages to cancel that and arrange another date. Nada. Phone never answered, calls not returned. Instead of sending expensive letters just phone and a suitable date could be made from the outset. It is all so frustrating, annoying and time wasting. Why can't the initial appointments be made by phone and suitable date agreed (just like the rest of the world does)? It would be so much more efficient.
