    I had a recent double physio appointment to discuss many ongoing joint related problems and the consultant listened and was so very helpful. I’ve been with the his practice since it merged and I was moved from Sandy lane and I have never been able to discuss my health issues like this before. Also the reception staff are always very organised and helpful

    Had a referral for a sick note sent to my GP, rang at 8am, got through to receptionist at 9:30am. Surprise surprise - no appointments left and no record of my referral so I was told to call back at 8am tomorrow or queue up outside. This is disgusting? Because I rang the mental health team back and they sent the referral on Friday. You have made my mental health condition worse and I can’t get through to speak to anyone. Horrible service with no empathy towards patients

    Iv put of trying to make an appointment for 2 years last time was when my back went, however it hurts to breath and birns when i cought, rang to simply ask for an apointment, the line hangs up on you rather then piutting you in a que then they other a ring back service just to tell me thier are no appointmentsd left its a joke.

    I don't normally leave reviews, but something has to be said about this doctors surgery. If you want an appointment you have to call up on the day you want the appointment, lines open at 8am and all appointments will be gone by 8:30am. You cannot book in advance. Online appointments are never listed. You will be told to call back another day or go to the walk in centre. It is just impossible trying to deal with this company and they never change in a way that benefits the patient.

This includes triage, same day and pre-bookable appointments, emergency appointments and online bookings. We also offer extended hours appointment Mon-Fri 6:30pm-8:00pm and weekend appointments 9am-5pm at surgeries across West Lancs.     I saw a nurse for a routine procedure at Birleywood this morning. The receptionist was attentive and helpful and I did not have to wait long; I went in for my appointment a few minutes early! The nurse was welcoming but still professional and she worked in an efficient but calm manner. She explained clearly what would happen and/or what things would feel like before she did them. I have encountered other medical practitioners who could learn a few things from her! She was fab.

    Excel primary care are an absolute joke!!!! Managed to see a GP a few weeks ago about my chronic fatigue syndrome,(after a long time trying to get an appointment). Took a further week for me to be able to have bloods taken! It’s now two weeks further on and I am unable to make an appointment about the results. I’ve been trying via online booking and telephone to make an appointment. Just managed to speak to a receptionist and she said the next available telephone consultation will be the 31st of August. This NHS is going to dogs!!!! I think it's time the CQC took a look at the way this practice is managed!

    This practice has never been any good since excel took it over! Almost impossible to make an appointment whether it is by phone or online. Can call at exactly 8am and still be about 20th in the queue. When you finally get to speak to someone, if you're lucky enough not to be cut off, all the appointments have gone. Trying to make an appointment on patient access is impossible, never any appointments available. The service provided by Excel is far below adequate. I don't know who you got to write your 5 star reviews, but I would challenge whether they are genuine or not ! I must add that the staff at the practice are always polite and helpful. Possibly it's only positive!
