    Excellent care and advice from one of the Practice GPs over the last couple of weeks (I'm prohibited from mentioning a doctor's name on here, but you know who you are..!) , delivered with real patient empathy not to mention efficiency. Even called me at home to update me on the progress of something we discussed. What a pleasure to be able to post a positive GP review..!

    I have been with this practice since 1998. Mainly I see the same GP for years, but my limited experience with the other doctors is excellent as well. My GP is absolutely brilliant. Firstly, he always listens to you very carefully. Then he asks for your opinion, regarding your problem. After examining you, he will tell you his professional opinion. He does it always very clearly (in plain English but still in a very professional manner). He is always friendly and shows respect to you. He is very patient with you, and answers all your questions. After every meeting with him, I leave the clinic feeling happy, that I have “received value for my money”. My GP never prescribe medicine when he thinks are unnecessary, or sent to do tests when he thinks it is unnecessary. And you always get full explanations for everything. He shows vast knowledge in medicine. From my past experience he was never wrong regarding my issues. In my last appointment with him (03/2024), he spent much more time with me than the formal time allocated to the appointment. In a way it was my fault as well because I came with a small list of issues. But during the whole appointment I was not given the impression that I am taking to much of his time. He should be benchmark to many GP’s. I should as well praise the reception team. Whenever I deal with them, they always try to help you and solve your problem in a professional manner.

    I was chasing a repeat prescription, which seemed to have gone astray between the pharmacy and the Practice. Ryan answered my call without any wait and very patiently took me through the NHS App and how to order my repeat prescriptions directly on the App. This means the request goes straight to the Doctor for authorising and then to the pharmacy. This was a most helpful bit of timesaving advice. Thank you Ryan.

    Registered temporarily for 3 months following cardiac surgery. I was removed from the list without notice after requesting a repeat prescription. I was offered a permanent registration, I have to assume the surgery would then be entitled to more tax-payer money. Under NICE I should have been offered Cardiac Rehabilitation but the Practice 188 neglected to do so probably it was too much effort for them.

    Dear Rajneesh Prasad, Thank you for your feedback. My name is Ryan. As Practice Manager, I take on the role of Complaints Manager for the organisation which means I hold delegated responsibility for managing complaints and ensuring adequate investigations are carried out. I am sorry to hear about your experience. It is important that we hear from patients when things go wrong as this can help us learn and make improvements. We note that you were registered as a temporary patient with the Practice. This allows us to provide immediately necessary treatment whilst you are away from your usual GP Practice. We prescribed all of your usual medication, as requested, on 8 January 2024. Once your temporary registration had elapsed, you were advised that this cannot be renewed. To do so would be in defiance of the GMS regulations which are standardised across England. At this point, you were provided with three options for receiving medical treatment; ask your usual GP Practice to send an electronic prescription to any pharmacy in England, contact NHS 111 for urgent medical assistance, or register with us as a permanent patient. I understand that this process can be frustrating but the rationale behind NHS England's regulations which provide a time-limit on temporary registration is to ensure that any treatments provided are on a temporary basis. To continue prescribing without access to your full medical history would have been unsafe and in breach of our contract with NHS England. I am sorry that, on this occasion, we were unable to fulfil your request. I would welcome the opportunity to discuss your concerns further with you.     I regret to express my dissatisfaction with The Practice at 188, as my experiences have consistently fallen short of acceptable standards. One recurring issue involves the abrupt cancellations of appointments without any prior explanation, causing inconvenience and frustration. Furthermore, the decision to conduct a phone appointment for a shoulder injury raised serious concerns about the quality of medical judgment and care. In numerous instances when I required timely assistance, accessing a live appointment seemed nearly impossible, leaving me questioning the availability and commitment of the medical staff. Regrettably, I have yet to physically meet with the doctor, leading me to speculate about their accessibility and dedication to patient care. It is my sincere hope that The Practice at 188 takes these concerns seriously and addresses the shortcomings in service to enhance the overall quality of medical care provided to patients.

It is important that we hear from patients when things go wrong as this can help us learn and make improvements. I am sorry to hear that your appointment was cancelled at short notice and that you had difficulty arranging a face-to-face appointment. Whilst there are sometimes circumstances beyond our control (such as staff sickness) which lead to cancellations, we always aim to offer a suitable alternative. I am acutely aware of the specific circumstances surrounding your appointment cancellation which was due to an issue with one of our partner organisations. This led to the last-minute cancellation of a number of our musculoskeletal (MSK) specialist practitioner appointments. We have discussed these concerns internally and with our partners and rapidly implemented changes to ensure all of these appointments can be held face-to-face and included continuity planning to prevent the cancellation of appointments at short notice.     My son and I have been members of this practice for over 50 years. My son has special needs and we were faced with a major problem regarding his treatment. He has dual nationality and found that he could not return to continue his medication. Therefore faced with the problem of obtaining specialist medicines for him whilst in England. He was due to urgent medication. The Reception, Dr's and Clinical Pharmacist were superb in obtaining and administering and ensuring he received his medication on the dates required.

    I´d received a text message last week telling me to book an appointment for discussing about the X-ray of my wife. I went to the practice last Monday 10th of July about 18:30h in behalf of my wife to book it. I gave all details about my wife to a lady at the reception desk, she wrote on the computer a call appointment with Spanish interpreter for the same day at 19:30h. Nobody called us so I went back to the Practice on Wednesday 12th of July about 18:00h. I told another lady at the reception desk about that problem. She told me there wasn´t any annotation in the computer. The lady who told me to get an appointment on Monday the 10th didn´t do any annotation, that´s unbelievable. I asked the second lady to get an appointment, she told me the first one available is on the 4th of August but it won´t be possible with interpreter because to have an appointment is one slot and is needed another slot for the interpreter, 2 slots aren´t possible so she doesn´t know when it´s available an appointment with 2 slots. She told me to try that next week. I don´t understand what she told me that, because my wife has had call appointments with the doctor with interpreter before, it´s the the doctor who calls the interpreter for talking the doctor, interpreter and my wife.

As discussed, we found that you did have an appointment arranged for 10/07/23 but our clinician was unable to reach you after trying to call multiple times. We also addressed the issue of accessing an interpreter and, thanks to your feedback, have been able to implement changes in our clinical rota to ensure such access is freely available. I hope that our conversation surrounding this, and our formal response sent to you, has provided some resolution and explanation to the issues you have described.
