    I haven’t been registered at this surgery long but the communication is poor. Had a receptionist tell me my thyroid was borderline after recent bloods but when I started to query it she got defensive and told me she couldn’t discuss test results as she was a receptionist. Patients want to know about their health so it would be much more helpful to get someone to call patients who can discuss what test results mean as I finished that phone call not knowing what is happening with my thyroid. I had an appointment booked but got a reminder text which stated a different time so I called the surgery and the receptionist said “no it’s definitely that time”. I explained I wouldn’t have booked that time as I would be at work and require later appointments. She then said the nurse had moved it as she isn’t working late that day and I had to wait for the next available late appointment which is delaying my medication. A better way to deal with this would be to call patients, explain the situation and discuss moving the appointment. It saves the confusion of getting a random message and it’s much more courteous. I appreciate staff may be stretched and GP surgeries are very busy however I work in the NHS treating my own patients and I understand the difficulties but I wouldn’t dream of speaking to my patients this way. When reception is your first point of contact on your patient journey, communication is extremely important.

    I am a patient of this GP where i never get appointments if i call after 8 am even though i want to book in advance they say they dont do future bookings after 8am. And when i call at 8am i have to call 71x and more from 8am to whenever their line says “ not busy” And when you call before 8 or till 8:02 i get that the gp is closed. You fill out an e consultation and they come back to say i need to call at 8am . Shambolic just to get an appointment with a Dr.

    Finding it hard to have any help from this appalling practice. Can’t get through on the phone. E consult is switched off for the entirety of the bank holiday weekend. To be switched on again at 8am Tuesday! Begin the long winded econsult at 8 Tuesday but during the time it takes to answer the numerous questions this is switched off. Leaving it then too late to call for an appointment! Use the urgent care centre so wait there 4 hours to be told that the gp surgery is the only route to access the services I need in a timely manner. Econsult is again switched off until 12.01 am. Stay up till this time and at 12.05 get a message saying the practice are no longer accepting requests. I will try again at 8 to call but have no faith whatsoever in this surgery

We do recognise that there can be a long wait to get through to our reception team, during our busy times as we are experiencing an extremely high volume of calls. I apologise also of your negative experience with our econsultation service and would like to assure you that this remains active until it has reached the maximum number of accessible consultations permitted each day. Having recently increased the amount of same day appointments available, alongside those pre-bookable, we are now in the process of reviewing our telephone system. We do appreciate the frustration caused when experiencing difficulty with access to the service and are constantly looking at ways to improve patient appointment accessibility.     I came to the surgery with symptoms of tonsillitis I told the doctor I might have tonsillitis she totally disregarded this didn’t even check if possibly was tonsillitis, she just quickly checked my ear and throat and asked me to call my dentist, I then went to my dentist who advised me to go back to the doctors as he was certain I did have tonsillitis, I then had to go to North Tees Urgent Care who checked properly and prescribed me with the correct medication. This is surgery is pointless and a waste of time the doctor was clearly in a rush to be elsewhere, I will be leaving this surgery effective immediately

    Recently,I ran out completely of my emergency heart attack spray.I contacted the surgery and the receptionist and prescriptions clerk sorted out the problem immediately. Prescription sent to the pharmacy the same afternoon. Thank you.

    Son has had repeated tonsillitis,went to the doctors told he couldn’t have any antibiotics until after the bank holiday.Called on the Tuesday and he was given an appointment but by this time he had quinsy and was sent to A&E as he needed to be put on a drip with steroids as his jaw had locked.Had a similar experwince with my daughter and today had to call 111 for an appointment at the doctors as all the appointments for the day had gone but 111 could book me a appointment with the my doctors.They couldn’t and sent us to a walk in centre with a three and a half hour wait but who had no access to her records(this is a repeated problem that went on for months as I was having to email pictures to the doctor as they had no appointments so she it went on for weeks).Have emailed and will have to try and call again tomorrow as e consult isn’t working.

    Recently joined this practice. I have had an appointment and my daughter. My appointment I was seen by a lovely nurse practitioner and I felt really listened too and valued and a referral sent for me. My daughter there was issues with my phone and the calls weren’t connecting through, I’d rang back and was transferred to the doctor and offered an appointment. I could have been told to ring another day due to my phone issues but doctor still made time to speak to me. Really recommend. Thank you
