Appointments take place from 1 September 2026 if you're pregnant, and from 1 October for all other eligible adults and children. Pharmacies will offer walk-ins from 1 October 2026.

Who can have a free flu vaccine at a pharmacy
Adults
Adults can get a free vaccine at a pharmacy if they are:
- aged 18 to 65 years and have certain long-term health conditions
- aged 65 years or over
Children
Children can get a free vaccine at a pharmacy if they are:
- aged 2 to 3 years
- aged 2 to 17 years with certain long-term health conditions
From 1 December 2026, school-aged children from reception to year 11 who did not get vaccinated in school will also be eligible.
Flu vaccine in pregnancy
You can get a free flu vaccine at a pharmacy if you're aged 16 or over and pregnant.
Flu vaccine for people experiencing homelessness
You can get a free flu vaccine at a pharmacy from 1 October if you’re aged 16 or over and:
- using a homeless hostel or night shelter
- rough sleeping
You do not have to book an appointment or be registered with a GP to get a free flu vaccine.
