Additional information

Access Dental provides the emergency out-of-hours dental service for residents and visitors in Devon who are experiencing: • Acute dental pain • Acute infection • Bleeding or trauma This service is not able to cater for Walk in Patients. Access to the Emergency service is by telephone only – 03330 063 300. This line is available: • Monday-Friday - 18:00-08:00 • Saturdays / Sunday and Bank Holidays - 24 hours. At other times - Monday – Friday 08:00-18:00 hours, dental advice is available via the NHS 111 service. During the day at weekends and bank holidays, if clinically appropriate you will be offered an appointment at one of our four dental access centres, where you will receive urgent treatment to remedy the immediate problem before being referred back to your usual dentist to complete any further treatment required. When connected to the emergency out-of-hours dental service, you will be asked to provide brief details about the patient including address and date of birth and a summary of the dental problem. Your call will be returned by a dental co-ordinator who will ask you some questions to determine the nature of your dental problem. Note: Attendance at the clinics are strictly appointment only following a telephone assessment via the 03330 063 300 number. Please note, the emergency out of hours dental service cannot assist with: • Attention to missing fillings • Loose crowns • Dentures or other minor matters Patients with private dental schemes are advised to call the emergency dental phone number provided by their dental insurance company or dental surgery. You will be charged in addition to your dental scheme should you use the emergency OOH service If you would like to register with a local NHS Dentist please call:03330 006 300.
