About Macular Disease Society

The Macular Society is a patient charity especially for people with macular conditions. We offer information and support to improve lives today and we fund medical research to bring hope for the future.

We have a large network of support groups around the country where members with central vision loss can share experiences and offer one another encouragement and friendship. They are the experts on living with macular disease!

Our services include

• Advice and Information Service

• Confidential telephone counselling (BACP accredited)

• Befriending

• Advocacy

• Coaching in new ways of seeing

• Buddy schemes for people experiencing visual hallucinations (Charles Bonnet Syndrome) and for those concerned about having injections in the eye.

All our services are free to anyone who needs them.

Further information

Meetings alternate between face to face and group telephone calls. Meets last Friday of every month (except December). Face to face sessions are 1-3pm and phone sessions are 1-2pm.

Face to face meetings are March, May, July, Sept, and Nov.
