About

Socops - social opportunities for children 8-16 years of age with high functioning autistic spectrum disorders (autism/aspergers), who are currently accessing national curriculum level education, and their families.

SOCOPS was started in 2005 by a group of parents, all with children on the Autistic Spectrum, who recognised the difficulties but who all felt that there was a lack of social opportunities for their children, and social contact for the families themselves.

They felt that with the right environment and support from each other, families could start to overcome some of these difficulties.

SOCOPS is a voluntary group run by a small committee of parents, all with the same aim, and is funded by grants, fund raising and parent contributions.
