About
Partners in Policymaking s a leadership training course for disabled adults and parents of disabled children. It has grown over the past ten years into a national group of people who believe that all people should have the right to live the life they chose.
The website provides general information about who we are and what we do, as well as specific information that might help you or your family with your relationships with services.

joint training programme (JTP)Partners in Policy Making offer training sessions to groups of organisations on topics such as 'Autism/ Behaviour that challenges', 'Makaton', 'Down's syndrome and Dementia', 'Eating with dignity' etc. Members of the JTP include local councils/ social services and various local provider agencies. Any parent/ family member of a person with a learning disability is invited to attend any course for free. Self- advocates are also invited to attend any course for free. Together Everyone Achieves More (TEAM)TEAM are a group of adults with learning disabilities who act as self advocates. Many of the TEAM are on disability partnership boards and have great insight into issues surrounding disabilities. TEAM meet twice a week on Tuesdays and Fridays where they talk about anything and everything. TEAM have also worked together to produce things which challenge ideas, for example, last year they produced a play which they co-wrote, and then performed in called 'What's up doc' where they challenged the processes used by hospitals and treatment received by doctors based on their own experiences. They later performed this to several groups. Crisis SupportPartners in Policy Making offer a free service to people with disabilities and the families of people with disabilities at times of crisis, offering support and impartial advice based on the knowledge they have of policy and their own experiences.
