You are only entitled to an NHS Health Check from the local authority in which you live.
This service is available to eligible residents or patients registered to a GP in this catchment area.

Referral method

If you are registered with a Harrow GP practice that is participating in the NHS Health Check programme you will automatically be invited once every five years. Once you get your invitation follow the instructions to book your appointment. Alternatively you can request to have your NHS Health Check by contacting your GP surgery.

If your GP is not participating in the NHS Health Check programme you can if you are concerned about your cardiovascular health contact them in the usual way to request an appointment to discuss this with your GP.

Description of service

The NHS Health Check is a simple check of your heart health. Aimed at adults in England aged 40 to 74, it checks your vascular or circulatory health and works out your risk of developing some of the most disabling – but preventable – illnesses. It is free of charge, including any follow-up tests or appointments.

Service type

The NHS Health Check service is available at most Harrow GP practices. Please check with your GP practice to see if they offer it.
