The NHS Health Check service is available at GP practices across the Luton Council catchment area.
Referral method
If you are 40-74 years old without a pre-existing condition and are registered with a GP you should receive a letter or text inviting you for a free NHS Health Check every 5 years. Once you receive your invitation follow the instructions to book your appointment. Alternatively your can find out if you are eligible or request to have a NHS Health Check by contacting your GP surgery.
Description of service
The NHS Health Check is a simple check of your heart health. Aimed at adults in England aged 40 to 74, it checks your vascular or circulatory health and works out your risk of developing some of the most disabling – but preventable – illnesses. It is free of charge, including any follow-up tests or appointments.
